Man in a coma - he has a wife and young children

Eternal God of love, You raised Your Son from the tomb of death to eternal life. We fervently pray that You will also raise this husband and father from the cold stillness of a coma to life everlasting through the same Christ Jesus. As we celebrate the joys of Easter, we recall that You love this man no less than Your own Son. We know that Your Divine Hand is in this event and that, in the fulness of time, Your Holy Name will be praised. Grant us strength to endure in the face of trials that pass our way, O Lord. Graciously incline Your ear to hear Blessed Jesus intercede on behalf of this soul, who undergoes an earthly purification at Your command. May our Lenten prayers not have stopped, but only begun for the sake of this family, which stands in reflection of the Holy Family that You alone established to provide us with Easter hope. We thankfully ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Allleuia!

Update: John is showing signs of waking up, though he hasn’t yet. His recovery is progressing and other injuries sustained in the car accident are healing. As his wife put it, it’s not if he wakes up, it’s when, which is a wonderful thing to say.

The gracious and loving Lord is providing time to give thanks, especially during this Easter season. Imagine what sorrow our God experienced, watching Christ being tortured and murdered. If we wish to share in the Eternal Kingdom, we also must share in the sorrows of this life.

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Amen! Alleluia!

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Christ rose from the dead, the first-fruits of all who slept. Let us rejoice and give him praise, saying:

Remember, Christ, your holy Church. You founded it on the Apostles and spread it throughout the world:
give your blessing to all who believe in you.
Healer of our souls and our bodies,
come to our aid and bring us to safety.
Help the sick and give them strength:
free them from their weakness.
Help those who are weighed down with pain and oppression;
in your mercy, sustain the the poor.
