Their hearts are in the right place, but…

We shouldn’t feel compelled to defend something that needs no defending. Prayer, if it is honest, sincere, and in accord with God’s will, needs no defense. Whether any given public figure sincerely prays as he or she says is something only God knows, so we have to take the person at his or her word. So why make a big kerfuffle about it, because whoever does ends up turning it into politics instead of spirituality, which is what they’re accusing the public figure of in the first place. 🤷
