Although posters in this forum might think of the American college campus as a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah, it has actually proven beneficial to the spiritual lives of some students.
WASHINGTON (CNS) – When college students graduate, it doesn’t necessarily mean they leave with a spiritual void, despite the widespread notion that young people take a hiatus from their religious upbringing during their college years.

I can say that the vast majority of college students I know (myself being a college student) at least have faith in God. On social networking sites like Facebook, many list “God” under their interests and “The Bible” in their favorite books.

My faith grew stronger in college becasue for the first time I saw people on the outside with out their faith. At this point I realized how important my faith was and stoped taking it for granted. Going to Catholic school my faith was never really opposed or tested hard until college. I think alot of young people either have strong faith in their childhood or find it as they grow older. Alot of people these days seem to have an hard time carrying the faith from childhood until old age. Also the college years are very stessfull and religion is comforting.

It was because college challenged my faith that i had to find answers. My faith is so much stronger because of the trial of University life.
