You know the fact our media is so reluctant to share this news reminds me of what was done when the pope(JPII) went to Poland

They gave it a small amount of airing on TV never mentioning the size of the crowds…People that act like this are afraid of the truth

Yeah, my group was stuck in the midst of the 300k+ (who knows if that was even a close estimate) on the opposite side. Thanks, though. 🙂
There were many, many, many there this time. It may be that abortion is finally becoming recognized as a moral evil by more people…

They’re so biased in their choice of words, too…anti-abortion protest…anti-women’s right to abortion, etc. It’s quite clear they only showed it because there were so many people, not because they actually thought it was important.

They zoom in on the people who aren’t paying attention, too…like a bunch of little kid reporters. They even were so sick as to zoom in on a poster of a marcher’s poster that said “innocent blood in on your hands” when Silent No More(women who regret their abortion) were giving their speech. This gentleman didn’t mean to hold it to make fun of the women, but meant to carry it on the march. These reporters, however sickly thought it would be funny to show it then… :mad:

Thanks for the links, though Zab…I appreciate seeing some of the speeches again. I never got to actually see the speakers.

I could not believe the answers of the Anglican bishop. It was the first time in my life that I wanted to reach through the monitor and shake someone. I could not believe that he said this was not about changing the law, but about creating awareness. Awareness of what? That the law is wrong and if a law is wrong, it must be abrogated.

His answer when she asked about a woman’s right to choose was completely off base. He said that it was a difficult question. There is nothing difficult in answering that no one has the right to choose to kill another human being.

He then had the audacity to say that the law was originally for very few cases and had expanded. This is irrelevant. Even a single case of murder is wrong.

There was another point when the interviewer tried to lead him down the path of religious preference and he fell right into it by saying that he is a Christian and as Christians we disapprove of abortion. This automatically opens the floodgates for those who are non believers to say that they are not bound by Christian principles, which they can legitimately claim. Why not say what it is. This is not a Christian, Jewish, Mulsim or other religious issue. It’s a human rights issue. Christians and others as well support human rights and every human being has a right to be born. End of story.

BR JR don’t you remember that female Anglican Bishop in the Fr Cutie mess saying abortion was such a blessing for women?

We discussed it a bit and you said who would tell a Bishop to shut up,and I said Mother Angelica bless her heart!

I don’t think even M. Angelica wouldn’t go that far, since the Rule of St. Francis says that we cannot do that. But I can see her saying that she hopes she slips on a banana peel or some such thing. I can’t remember how it goes. Mother has this one funny line that she uses a lot about banana peels.

But the rule doesn’t say that you pass up a great opportunity to teach. I could not believe this man’s responses. They missed the whole point of human rights. He never mentioned it. I’m still in awe. I wanted to go to that march too; but I couldn’t get permission because of my health and the frigid temps up there.

Yup!

Each year only CSPAN and EWTN give the march any coverage. A passing reference on Fox now and then. I spend time each year flipping the channels and going to the news websites and it amazes me each time.

Al Sharpton gets 15 people to march against Imus and it is covered by every station. Thousands upon thousands march for life and the best we can get is “…oh, by the way…”.
Why couldn’t the “Tea Partiers” help out here? They are good at organizing and getting coverage.

It really frustrates me. Thank God for CSPAN and EWTN.

For Steve Sanborn, the last straw came the morning after the 2008 March For Life. The night before had been bad enough. Though the annual rally had drawn upwards of 250,000, from all over the U.S. and elsewhere to Washington D.C.'s National Mall for a happy, even joyous day of speeches, songs, prayer and socializing, the coverage in the national news media was exactly zero.
 
I watched The March For Life in D.C. and Walk for Life, West Coast both on EWTN. They were fantastic. There were a lot of reasons neither of them aired on a mainstream network, none of them good of course. Right now planned parenthood and every other anti-life organization is just too powerful and will stop at nothing to keep the truth from reaching the people, and the networks fear them. Right now CBS is being threatened by a bunch of sick minded pro-death nut jobs for CBS’ announcement that they will air a pro-life spot with Tim Tebow. I hope and pray CBS will stick to their guns. When this does air this just might be the foothold needed, that we may not get complete coverage of the march and walk, but enough to wake up more of America. They say 51% of America is Pro-life. I forget the percentages of pro-death and undecided, but I bet the Tim Tebow spot will bring it up to 65-70%. Does anyone Know if the 2010 March D.C. and Walk are available on DVD?
 
The truth is very simple. The problem is that we human beings are often as ostentatious in our thinking as we are in our manner of dress and home decor. In other words, we complicate things.

The first truth is that there is not such thing as pro-choice. If you are pro-choice, you are pro-abortion. You are allowing someone to choose to kill an unborn child. Simple enough.

The second truth is that those who opposed the pro-life movement have no clue what they are opposing. They do not take the time to listen. They hear that we are trying to take away a legal right. They do not hear that we are defending a human right, the right to be born. Simple enough.

The third truth is even simpler. Many of the organizations that support Planned Parenthood are post-abortion organizations. People who are post-abortion (male or female) cannot tolerate the pro-life movement. It stirs us too many emotions and brings back too many painful memories that have not been healed. They are really fighting, not for the right to legal abortions, but to protect their emotional selves. Simple enough.

The fourth truth is the redemptive truth. When those who are pro-abortion come to the point of mourning their pain, only then will they be able to listen to the pro-life voice and experience healing and reconciliation with themselves, with their aborted babies and with God. Simple enough.
