I dunno what march you were watching, but I didn’t see any vagina hats. Just pink cat ear hats. If cats are offensive, I have more problems than I thought, since I live with two of them.
You didn’t? You may want to google image it. There were more than just “cat-ear pussyhats” out there…full blown vag costumes even made appearances.

I’ll take your word for it. Ew.

By all measures, it was an overwhelming success. Huge media traction, huge turnout eclipsing the inauguration, and a powerful message to Trump that he cannot trample women.
Media traction on the behavior, not the message.

These people showed up with vulgar vocabularies dressing up in whatever to shock people, and think that people will hear them.
Pathetic.
What I got out of it is women trampling other women to lay claim to the loudest and most puerile of all.

Their message was lost, assuming there was one to begin with.

I fundamentally disagree, I think it was full of hope and uplift. But we are never going to agree on this.

When a peaceful demonstration becomes something I cannot expose my children to because of the vulgarity of the demonstrators, they have lost any semblance of meaning.

It was a failure.
Look at this thread for instance.
There is more discussion of the people and their actions then of whatever message they wanted to convey.

For the record, I don’t care that Trump is crude. I care that he brags about debasing women and sexually assaulting them. I care that he directs his crudeness to belittle those beneath him.
Bragged in the past, not brags continuously. And he apologized for it.

The liberals and special interest groups have had their way the last 8 years while the conservatives were unhappy.

Now we have a conservative president, or at least conservative compared to what Obama was, and now it’s time for the special interest groups and their liberal Buddies to be unhappy.

Throwing fits isn’t going to change that.

To be fair, I wouldn’t take my kids to the March for Life, either. When I went a few years ago, there was one section of the route that was filled with gory posters and videos.

Its not throwing fits, its protesting. Its a long, historic American tradition. You assume people are just whining for abortion, but there is a lot more to it.

Just one of many examples.

Fair enough.

But the March for Life is trying to STOP those gory occurrences from happening.

Not sure what the purpose of the other marchers are other than to be vulgar for the purpose of entertainment and obnoxiousness.

The vaginas are a play on “grab em by the *****”.

Which, you know…

I have also been sexually assaulted and abused, and I liberated myself from my physically abusive marriage and am now successful as a working mom raising a large brood of children with absolutely no child support. I have made a conscious decision not to have man in my life. I also vote, and am thankful to. Do I feel the need to yell and scream, support abortion, throw a fit about Trump’s or Clinton’s chauvinistic behavior, talk vulgarly, exclude men and prolifers? Absolutely not!
And it’s funny how my abusive ex husband (who raped me) was raised by a woman who idolized Hillary Clinton. He also urged me to get on the pill and didn’t see a huge problem with abortion, either. This is why I have such a problem with this type of women’s rally–because it is so disgustingly not respectful of women.

One important thing comes to mind when I listened to the speakers at the women’s march.

There are many that stand waiting with their talons and tongues sharpened. Perhaps the sex scandal in the Church was a wake up call to be ready for this.

Did anyone else notice that a ‘nun on a bus’ spoke just prior to the CEO of planned parenthood? How intentional was that?

and I’ll quote from it:
You are still objectified. You are still catcalled. You are still sexualized. You are still told you’re too skinny or you’re too fat. You’re still told you’re too old or too young. You’re applauded when you “age gracefully.” You’re still told men age “better.” You’re still told to dress like a lady. You are still judged on your outfit instead of what’s in your head. What brand bag you have still matters more than your college degree.
You are still being abused by your husband, by your boyfriend. You’re still being murdered by your partners. Being beaten by your soulmate.
I agree with this, not that I want to dwell on our victim hood. But I feel like so much of this type of women’s movement attacks the battle in the most contradictory way!

Did anyone here actually listened to the dialogue at the march?

For those interested, this provides a bunch of different women’s issues that those in the March are interested in. I don’t agree with all of them, but it’s insightful.
This wAs a good article, and I’ll quote from it

Not that I want to dwell on our victim hood, but I strongly feel like this type of woman’s movement is attacking the victimhood in the most contradictory way. It’s almost as if it feeds itself! And I won’t deny that both my liberal “feminist” girlfriends and myself enjoy indulging in attempting to be beautiful as a woman, finding joy in being attractive and celebrating sexuality and having a man find them attractive. And I don’t think that’s wrong so much. It’s just the abusive disrespectful part that’s gotten out of control these days.

The " pussyhats" were a glaring example of what this March was actually about.Anyone who is unable to make the connection between the real meaning behind these “***** hats” clearly is naive beyond belief!

Hold on, weren’t we told just days ago it wasn’t the language on the tape everyone is up in arms about? I think ya’ll need to tell the ladies at that march. They seem to think that’s a big part of it like I said just days ago
