Hey guys…

Let’s get off the discussion and promotion of these unapproved private revelations before the thread gets closed or pulled by the Mods.

If you take a look at the Banned Topics you’ll find the following…
  1. Promoting unapproved apparitions and revelations (those not approved by the Church for private or public devotion) or alleged private locutions.
THANK YOU, and I wonder why they do this? I call it WISDOM.

So far, so good, Axion.

So far, the Church hasn’t found anything contrary to our Faith. Otherwise, the Church would condemn the purported apparitions.

You are correct.
For you information, the Church doesn’t go around “Condemning” any apparitions, The church just doesn’t find them “Worthy of Belief.”
In Bayside NY, they have used the term condemned there but that may just be the media, I am not sure. Usually they just fizzle out of sight.

The division caused over Medjugorje is because of people like you.

:Dear Dawn,
Oh really, just what have I done that is against Church teaching. I am working within Church guidance. She cautions us about getting involved in unapproved apparitions. The division is caused because many do NOT handle these so called Marian apparitions with caution!

Why can’t people like you give it a rest?

me again,
🙂 I got news for you, I didn’t start this thread!!!

Leave the rest of us in peace, and go your way, and leave it in the Church’s hands? hmmm?
tis me.
That is exactly what I have been doing, leave it in the hands of the Church, why don’t you??, and stop being sooo defensive.

I am not sure whom you refer to in your post but I am not promoting unapproved apparitions. I am merely stating what my experience has been. I encourage others to make their opinions based on an actual visit rather than by believing what someone else says. It is pretty difficult to ignore something which has been visited by fifty million people, and over a half million priests, bishops, cardinals, and clergy. It is normal and natural for people to desire information about such phenomenon. We are sharing opinions. I never said that by going there one would experience something wonderful or miraculous. That would be promoting it. I merely relate my opinion based on my experience. Whatever is finally decided by the Magisterium I will be obediant to, but it is doubtful that any formal investigation would begin until the alleged visitations cease or announcement has been made that they have ceased.
You coulda fooled me!!! Your idea of promoting is a little different than mine. I have found LOTS of information that is not favoring Medjugorie, you must be reading the wrong books etc.

Its not difficult for me, no matter how many people have spent their hard earned money chasing an unapproved apparition. And there HAVE been SEVERAL commissions that stated that “Nothing Supernatural, pertaining to Medjugorje” Well if its not supernatural, then what is it? Where were you when these report came out???

This might be a little off the topic that you’s are discussing but I was just listening to an ex-Catholic priest talking about how he thinks marian apparitions are demonic. Ive heard this loads of times from protestants. But what I was wondering is …Why dont they try to exorcise the places where this is happening??? If they beleive its from the devil then why not cast him out??
As far as I know, when Catholics come across demonic activity we roll our sleves up and send the sore looser packing, because we know that God is more powerful. So why dont (anti-apparition) protestants try and cast out the “demons” causing all the miracles? Im sure Jesus and Mary wouldn’t mind them trying. In fact when they realize that it can’t be done they might be convinced, and be forced to review their stance on the issue.
Maybe thats why they havent done it because they’d be forced to either admit that God isnt with them and so they cant cast out the “evil” OR that these things are from God.

But it is just like how some of the Jews thought that Jesus was working with the power of the demons (beelzebul). In order for those Jews to be right in there thinking Jesus HAD to be wrong (cas he challenged their thinking) and THEREFORE His miracles couldnt be accepted as “From God”. Its the same as now with some of these anti-Catholic protestants.

God bless!!!

The Church deals with these things in the proper way. Its the people that don’t listen!!! In 2006 the Bishop of Medjugorje, Ratko Peric, warned us that the situation there with the disobedient priests involved in the so called “apparitions” had been expelled from their order, were administering the sacraments profanely and even assisting at invalid marriages, The Bishop said that the Church investigations of the events in Medjugorje have NOT determined them to be supernatural or Marian and has not accepted any of them.
And in Jan. 2008, The Sacred Congregation of the Faith removed Fr. Tomislave Vlasic, ( who has been the lead promoter of these false apparitions) from active ministry and he was ordered to seclude himself in a monastery in northern Italy. Fr. Vlasic had not responded to these demands and remains in disobedience to all authority. Bishop Peric says there exists something similar to a schism. He also said, " As the local Bishop, I maintain that regarding the events of Medjugorje, on the basis if the investigations and experience gained thus far, throughout these last 25 years, the CHURCH has not confirmed a single “apparition” as authentically being the Madonna."
Don’t you think after all these years, we should listen to the Church and go on to better things, such as getting to know the depths of our Faith in a sincere and truthful way. The Greatest Miracle on earth happens every time we go to Mass. God Bless, Memaw

I have just picked up on this thread. I really have taken in all of the opinions and have prayerfully reflected on the thoughts provided. I attended Medjugorje with my wife as a wedding gift from my pastor in 1987; he had also previously attended.

While I did not receive any personal miracles at the time, my life has been under the divine protection of Christ and our Mother since then. Very recently, I have been approached by two past pilgrims, who have made visits since 2001 and who are interested in making a future visit. One is devoutly Catholic and one is a Protestant pastor! I cannot view these as isolated or demonic instances to bring together believers, why would anyone think so.

These events really do serve to link Christ to His people. A very good (and well researched) reflection is located at www.twoheartspress.com.

As it concerns apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary - I don’t assume a “stern blockade” of reason and faith because only time will tell whether these (Medjugorje and Garabandal) appartions are or are not legit.

I don’t want to be so harsh as to possibly offend the Lord for not accepting with a simple heart the gift of His Mother in these apparitions nor do I want to be so gullible as to also offend the Lord for not heeding to the Church’s warnings.

My church is this way also in that it is neither harsh nor gullible.

And yes,…the Eucharist is our daily miracle…the daily sacrifice spoken of in the book of Daniel.

I cannot imagine anyone who cannot feel that something is going on in the world.
Something out of the ordinary.

The Secular world has all kinds of movies out.
The Conspiracy Theoryists (lol!) are busier than ever.
Even the Atheists are all excited.

Something’s going on.

As Catholics, we pray at Mass: “As we wait in Joyful Hope, for the coming of Our Savior, Jesus Christ!”

We know that we cannot continue down the path we’re on. Abortion. Creation-experimentation-then destruction of human life in petri dishes. Celebration of Homosexuality in Parades in our streets. (To name just a few).

“God is not a disinterested spectator in the affairs of man” states Father John Corapi.

There will come a time when God will say, “Enough!”

As we wait in Joyful Hope. Joyful!

God Bless.
+Jesus, I Trust In You!
Love, Dawn

Your cooperation and courtesy in not reopening old/dormant threads is requested:

-1. the issues that spurred them are often no longer “hot” or current topics, explaining why thread activity ceased originally

-2. posters originally involved in the discussion are sometimes no longer active on the forum and, therefore, unavailable to reply to comments added to the thread

Our experience suggests that, when a topic merits revival, it is best accomplished by initiating a new thread that draws on recent events and can be posted to contemporaneously. This eliminates the baggage of folks being frustrated by asking and not receiving responses to issues raised in early posts (because the new poster didn’t notice that the post he is quoting was made a year ago).
