PS. I think the statue with the plywood moon is UGLY. Leave it to the Jesuits to come up with a plywood (cardboard?) Islamic-looking moon on what looks like an older statue in what is probably a very fancy, very expensive building.

Franciscans could have had the same artist come up with the same design. I would still say that I do not like the big moon and the clouds, but I would not take a shot at the Franciscans for it. If I don’t to it to my family, I won’t do it to another religious family either.

I’d started another post about what you said above, about how Our Lady (and Jesus) look differently to those who’ve had visions of them. Why is that? It would seem to me that if they were truly having a supernatural experience of seeing Mary or Jesus, their descriptions would be the same, not totally different. Some describe them as having dark hair and dark eyes, some describe them as being fair haired and blue eyed. There may even be differences on the location of the puncture wounds Jesus received.
