Mark of the Beast - Clarity

This is a deeply held belief among some Evangelical/Fundamentalist Protestants. I know, I was one for the second third of my life!

They will refuse a phone number if it has 666, would ask for a different Driver’s License number, this fear of 666 is deeply held.

Years ago, when I worked in retail, we had to have our credit department issue a new account number to a customer. She pitched an absolute fit because her acct number included 666.

Hi, I personally believe, the mark of the beast refers to the Communist Party, not something symbolic or a microchip. The CP is the red dragon, the beast and the demon, that is corrupting humanity on all levels. Infiltrated culture in free societies, with their atheism they want to destroy the tradition, the family, that are the pillars that God give us to build a harmonious society and also to be able to return with HIM.

You know all the socialist movements are behind the pro-abortion movements, homosexual pro-marriages, etc. They want to push the morality of human beings down and away from tradition and the path arranged by God.

I have a copy of the New International Version Bible. It is approved by

*Anglican
*Assemblies of God
*Baptist
*Brethren
*Christian Reformed
*Church of Christ
*Evangelical Free
*Lutheran
*Mennonite
*Methodist
*Nazarene
*Presbyterian and
*Wesleyan

denominations. It has a page 666 in it. Would those Fundamentalists who worry about these things consider this Protestant Bible as marked by the beast?

First tell me whether you believe that the mark of beast is the number 666 or not.Secondly tell whether this number is said as stamped (in case you believe in the beast)on your right hand/forehead or on the lottery ticket/number plate.You will get the answer. Don’t pretend ignorance.
 
I can’t remember who it was, but a wise Catholic, when speaking about the book of Revelation, said to let it be humbling. There is so much we cannot answer or figure out.

It doesn’t matter where it’s stamped. It’s superstition.

See if you can get into one of Jeff Cavins’ Bible Study on Revelation. He unwraps a totally different understanding of Revelation - different from Baptist and other end-timers. His teaching supports that Revelation was written in code - connections that the early church would understand because they were well taught in Old Testament history. So you need to understand Old Testament references to understand Revelation. It sure made sense to me. (666 references Caesar Nero.)
 
If you don’t believe what is said plainly and clearly in the Scriptures,You won’t understand any thing what I had said. So your earlier response to my post that you don’t understand what I meant ,is ok…
 
Reminds me I’m getting a chip implanted in my hand this year, should contain credit cards and a keylock opening mechanism for some of the company doors.

I am not losing any sleep over it spiritually.

Just because I don’t believe it doesn’t mean I don’t understand it.
What about Bibles with a page 666? Or dictionaries? Or telephone books? War and Peace ?
6:00pm on January 27th will be the 666th hour of 2019. Is it a cursed hour?
 
Oh…some connection problem…Let me repeat.The Bible clearly says that those who are marked on their forehead or right hand( nowhere else!) with the number of the beast (which is also clearly said as 666) will be in trouble during the great tribulation.Who said anything about page,telephone no,date etc? You are unnecessarily presuming something not in the Bible.Let peace be with you.
 
Pretty much, its being rolled out on experimental basis in the north. I’m getting that an a neat magnetic implant in my finger tips so I can sense whether there’s a current flowing in a wire (that’s just for personal amusement though).

Again, I don’t buy into the panic about these chips being the “mark of the beast”. Those are references to the Roman Empire and those who swore allegience to the Emperor, as well as being an allegory of those who choose the world over the Kingdom of Heaven.

I’m an old lady now. When I was a kid, I would have what I now know to be panic attacks every time there was a big red harvest moon in the sky. The moon was OBVIOUSLY turning to blood and this was the time for the terrible things to begin. Obviously I was not saved because I had not been raptured away before this sign appeared.

I remember when Social Security Numbers were considered the rolling out of “The Beast” because they were required to transact some commerce.

The number of sermons I heard railing against using bar codes, because THEY were the mark of the beast, I could never count.

After that, it was ATMs. The ATM uses your hand and has a camera that looks at your head.

Then it was palm scans and facial recognition.

It was also debit cards.

It was retinal scanning.

Thank GOD, He led me out of that chaotic thinking. When I discovered Preterism it was as if the entire world changed. I did not have to live in fear anymore. The other misinterpretations did not lead to peace.

I understand better now, thank you. I thought the concern was over the number 666 in general, as there are those who are fearful of it under any circumstances.

My next question is, are people expected to believe that the image of ‘666’ will appear on their skin?
 
If you believe in bible,if you believe in what is said in Revelation,there is absolutely no doubt that during the great tribulation when the God’s direct wrath (that is, not of any evil or Devil’s work) is poured into the inhabitants of the earth of that time,those who have the character /mark of the beast or its number(no.666) on his right hand or forehead will suffer much being the persons who follow the beast and not God.They had allowed the mark to be put there by the beast by falling into its trap when it said that without the mark no buying/selling etc are possible.I shall quote the relevant verses ,if required.
 
Do you realize that your interpretation, what you have been taught, was not even taught until the 19th Century?


It was literally invented, all of it, pre Trib and Mid Trib rapture theory to the mark of the beast as literal for the future, was made up. It was never taught by any group of Christians, it was considered fringe, for almost two thousand years.

I’d advise you to seek some unbiased sources.
 
Thanks for the explanation @joseie I’m wholly unfamiliar with it.

Had you learned these things through your Catholic sources? (schooling, CCD, homilies, etc?)
