Will true believing Christian know when it’s here?

Yes.

I really want to know what it is so I can avoid it. I don’t want to turn my back on Jesus Christ.

Strive to be always united with him, stay out of mortal sin, grow in holiness every day and there will be no reason to ever worry.

Here is the true historical Mark of the Beast (a Roman libellus). But that wasn’t and won’t be the only one in history. Christians in China are being faced with a system of earning virtue points in the Communist regime forcing them to renounce their faith and uphold the state as their god. History tends to work in cycles.
