Oooooookay. So let’s pray for this woman and for the youth.

Hail Mary, full of Grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art’ though amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

O’ Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a Fount of Mercy for us, I Trust In You!

:highprayer: :signofcross:

In Jesus’ name, Father, please revive, strengthen, and protect the souls of young people. Whether or not this young woman was targetted because of her high-profile involvement in WYD, please do not allow disillusionment to follow in other young Catholics; and please restore this young woman to the Catholic Faith

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

From the article:
“Hillsong is more about having a relationship with God. It’s a lifestyle, not just somewhere to go on a Sunday. I love it. It is like I fell in love with God all over again.”
This is a not unfamiliar refrain. I’ve heard it said when someone is taken by the social, so-called “fellowship”, and activity aspects of some evangelical congregations. I wonder, as in the times I’ve encountered it, was there a person or persons who introduced her to the community and its activities, and things happened from there? They can be very intense in these communities, and sometimes overwhelming.

Sadly, there’s little insight into the turn of events, but prayer is indeed indicated. Mine will be offered.

Blessings,

Gerry

Whenever I see something like this, I always wonder what the person thought Catholicism was about and how they reached that conclusion. I suspect that the deplorably weak catechesis throughout the western world has a lot to do with it.

A good point. Weak catechesis will certainly most certainly lead to vulnerability.

Blessings,

Gerry

I hear this refrain alot also, as I know many friends who fell away.
I agree it is a lack of Catechesis, and a misunderstanding of the nature of this life. It seems there are many in the Catholic Faith who are caught up in the current of the times, where we learn to use our feelings as guides.
Whatever happened to living by Faith and not by sight?
Those who don’t know this Truth, will have an even harder time with suffering in this world. Satan is a clever dude.
Selfish Christianity elevates the self experience above the teachings of Jesus.
Who can know the mind of Jesus, however. Perhaps this path will lead her to an even greater love and appreciation for the Catholic Faith which she left, and result in her reuniting stronger than when she left. I wonder if we’ll hear about that in the news though?
Let’s all say a Hail Mary for her namesake to guide her through this time, and bring her back to Jesus.

Peace to all
