Ezekiel 44:1-4
Then he brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary facing east, but it was closed.
The LORD said to me: This gate must remain closed; it must not be opened, and no one should come through it. Because the LORD, the God of Israel, came through it, it must remain closed.
Only the prince may sit in it to eat a meal in the presence of the LORD; he must enter through the vestibule of the gate and leave the same way.
Then he brought me by way of the north gate to the facade of the temple. I looked—and the glory of the LORD filled the LORD’s house! I fell on my face.
I believe it has to do with the Blessed Virgin Mary’s perpetual virginity.

Jesus said that He is the way the truth and the live. No one comes to the Father but through me. Jesus also called Himself the Gate. Man can say what they want about their opinion of the “word”, but i will stick with Jesus as being the only gate.Thanks!

I agree that Jesus is the Gate of Heaven, however, without Mary’s “yes” we would not have access to this Gate. As Mark Shea explained better than I in his trilogy on Mary, what we say about Mary reflects on her role in the Incarnation. Any title given to her points to Jesus. We do not choose to go to Jesus through Mary, it is God who chose to bring Jesus to us through her. A truth explained by St. Louis de Montfort in Total Consecration.

Mary is said to be the Gate of Heaven because She was chosen to carry Jesus to this world and when Jesus died she was taken down from the cross into Mary’s hands. She is also called the Church. She is also asking us to duely pray everyday to His Son.
