I found this comment on facebook and was wondernig if anynoe could answer it.
Hey Mark, I have a good question for you today…If the readings today from the Book of Revelation refers to the Blessed Mother, and it states, “She was with child and wailed aloud as she labored to give birth.” And as Catholics, we believe that the Blessed Mother gave birth painlessly…I will use Fr Jim’s words…“What’s up with that?!”

The Woman and the Dragon. (Rv 12)

In Genesis 3, the Lord told Eve that He would “greatly multiply” her pain in childbirth. This implies that some level of pain was involved even before the fall.
 
Real quick, the woman of Rev 12, is a multi-meaning symbol. It reffers to both Mary and to the Church. There are symbols there that could only be Mary and others that can only be the Church.

To show a biblical basis for Mary being without sin you need to show how Mary is “the new Eve” and “the Arc of the New Covenant” as well as explain the Greek “Chaire Kekaritomene” (Hail, Full of Grace).

It’s a long detailed explaination, but clear enough that two out of the 3 major reformers: Luther and either Zwingli or Calvin (I forget which one now) believed it as well.
