I have a problem this weekend so I hope you guys can give me some advice. I am moving out of state this weekend. The movers are coming to this house to pack up -on Saturday and want to deliver to new house on Monday. It will take every bit of the remainder of that Saturday and Sunday just to get from here to there (with a 12 year old and a 2 year old and 2 big dogs) to get there in time. Also, my husband who is not Catholic and doesn’t see the need for church will likely get extremely frustrated if I try to stop along the way (even if I could plot out a route that would include a Mass). Since Christmas is the next weekend, I’m not sure I could get to Confession. My question is, could this situation be an acceptable reason to miss Mass, or will I have to refrain from receiving on Christmas? Prompt replies will be appreciated as my phone service (and internet service) will be gone tomorrow.
Thanks!
