You can’t flaunt your sins and expect everybody to ignore it.

Which do you want, the Church to interrogate everybody about their private lives, or to accept us all as the sinners we are, provided we don’t shove each others noses in it?
Remind me how the Lesbian parents were shoving their lesbianism in the school’s face.

That you think a child raised, albeit imperfectly, by a loving gay couple that would (like most parents) endure almost any pain or death to protect the child
Here we go again. It’s a false comparison when you connect homosexuality to fornication, birth control, or adultery. All of those are indeed sins.

Homosexuality compounds those sins with unnatural and abominable acts. A better comparison would be with incest or bestiality or inanimate objects.

The homosexual couple is not a “loving couple” anymore than a brother-sister marriage is a “loving couple” (and they too would theoretically be willing to risk their lives for their child). It is a distortion of true love and a mockery of sexuality.

Strolling around as a gay couple is a public display of a mortal sin. It’s roughly the equivalent of a married mom introducing the teacher to her boy toy at parent-teacher conferences.

Yep, they sure showed that 8 year old.
I think you mean his “moms” did that when they decided their kid was going to make a political statement.

It’s not like there are no schools in the world that embrace their values. Don’t pretty much ALL of them do that now?

According to who?
The Church takes from Sacred Scripture four sins which cry to heaven for vengeance - murder, defrauding the worker of his wages, oppressing widows and orphans, and sodomy.

An “inanimate object” - you mean like masturbating with a “toy?” And you seem to badly confuse sexuality with love. It’s absurd to say that two gay people can’t love one another as much a a heterosexual couple. Though disordered, the feeling is real.

And I note that you seem disinclined to adress the entering argument, which was the comparison to raising a child in a loving (but gay) home with pedophillia.

Nevertheless, what you say is not the Church doctrine. How you chose to weigh one sexual sin against another is your personal belief (and surely the belief of some others).

But let’s be real candid: For many people that argument is a direct result of the “ick” factor, and not a theological argument.

Thanks for re-affirming…hidden sins accepted, open sins not.

Keep the sins hidden and the Catholic school won’t care…gotcha. 👍
first of all it seems that you are here not to learn, but to demean what you do not understand.

Think logically for a second zatzat how will they know if someone is doing something unless they ask? when they ask the person being asked lies. if they honestly believe that person is lying, what is their recourse of action? what can they do? cant ask the doctor can they. if they dont flaunt the fact that they are sinning, what proof does the school have. the lesbian mother flaunted she was gay, the school knew she was beyond a shadow of a doubt. but the birthcontrol/contraceptive people we dont know about. and the fact that the church does not know about does not make it any less of a sin or any less despicable or deplorable a sin.

So if the Lesbians don’t practice sodomy, don’t defraud workers their wages, don’t commit murder and don’t oppress widows and orphans…all is good?

NEWS FLASH:

BOSTON—The head of education for the Boston Archdiocese offered Thursday to help find a different Catholic school for a boy denied acceptance at a Hingham Catholic school because his parents are gay.

In a statement, superintendent Mary Grassa O’Neill said the archdiocese doesn’t bar children of same-sex parents from attending Catholic schools, and that it will develop a policy in the coming weeks to make that clear. Terry Donilon, a spokesman for the archdiocese, said local pastors have autonomy to run their parishes within basic church rules, but the archdiocese can set new policy when something needs to be clarified – as in this case – and pastors are expected to follow it.

That may be true, though, if you look at the older literature where homosexuality is discussed as a mental illness, it is considered a type of arrested development. They tend to be egoistic and narcissistic. The relationship is tends to be more akin to that of adolescents. Obviously you can’t paint everybody with the same brush but by definition these characteristics are part of the disorder.

Since the newer literature (ironically coming from the same places that recently published that pedophilia does no lasting harm) does not regard homosexuality as a disorder, there is unfortunately no attempt to uncover its causes and side effects.
And I note that you seem disinclined to adress the entering argument, which was the comparison to raising a child in a loving (but gay) home with pedophillia.
Again, we can’t get any objective updated studies on this, the long term effects of either is murky. From a Catholic perspective, that concerns with the proper formation of the child to save his soul, this is not difficult to grasp.

As far as Church doctrine goes, homosexuality is right up there with willful murder and oppressing widows and orphans.

😃

Great decision. I knew I wasn’t the only one to feel this way, glad there’s some Catholics in positions of power who can set things right!

Are you the eight-year-old?

Well, start asking.
indeed they should, i have no control over that sir.
Why would a Catholic lie?
Really? why does any one lie? dont trap people up in questions that cannot be easily answered, you are trying to make me look like a fool by throwing bait that no single person on this earth can answer intelligently.
Yeah, but only one sin carries with it a penalty suffered by an 8 year old.
by denying the kid admission they are trying to avoid scandalizing the child, the parents, and the school community. they can end the young one to a secular school where they tolerate such heinous acts as LGBT.
