I have read that people are saying there is no mass on Good Friday, yet my parish is celebrating mass today, more than once. Can anyone explain this?

The Good Friday Liturgy is not technically a “mass,” since there is no consecration and communion is distributed from previously consecrated hosts.

Your parish is not having a mass what your parish is having is an adoration of the cross and a service.

And the “more than once” may refer to different services. In addition to the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion there may be Stations of the Cross or something similar.

We have stations of the cross at 11am.
Then the passion at 3pm.

The liturgical celebrations on Good Friday are not “masses”. To be a Mass, there must be a consecration. But any hosts distributed on Good Friday were already consecrated (usually at the Mass on Holy Thursday). No consecration means no Mass.
