Mass Shooting at Colo. Movie Theater, 14 People Dead

Why has a thread about an American tragedy have “comical” pictures in it?

On another note, I disagree with some people that have blaimed the Batman movies for what happened. I’ve seen all 3 movies, and are they violent? Yes, but Batman himself believes in justice. He doesn’t believe in killing the bad guys, but bringing them to justice.
The whole message in this trilogy has been about hope. Are there evil people in the world? Yes, but there are those that still believe that people are good for the most part.

Perhaps it has something to do with the thread being 670+ posts long?

If you’ve read through the entire thread, you would see that no one has made light of the event.

Yeah, someone posting a pic of George Burns is the reason “Christians are so made fun of”.

Everyone agrees it was a horrific event. Our discussions often go sideways and end up completely unrelated. The moderators often have to step in and slap is around. There is no need for finger wagging about a lack of compassion on anyone’s part.
 
Well, I know as a Catholic I would never post goofy pictures, no matter how many posts. And what I was saying (if you had actually read my post correctly) is that one reason the population doesn’t respect Christians is because most Christians have a complete lack of compassion alot of times. They poke their noses in other peoples business, but when truely called apon fall very short. If I had lost a loved one in that shooting, and saw the farse people are making of it here, I would lose aloy of faith in humanity.
I hope the mods shut this thread down due to lack of respect to those dead.

Uh, the George Burns picture (as he appeared in the 1977 movie “Oh, God!”) was a jab at the tangent discussion about what God looked or sounded like. It was not poking fun of the Aurora tragedy.
 
No I’m not. You don’t see me posting jokes or silly pictures.

Perhaps, “as a Catholic” the correct approach for you might have been “Hey, don’t you think that’s a little disrespectful”, versus the (feigned?) indignation of I’m “Disapointed and disgusted.”?

Temperence (and Prudence) is a Cardinal virtue.

Have you ever been affected by a tragedy? If so, who came forward to help? Did you ever laugh again?

I have been affected. Catholics and Christians were at the front line to help me. And you know what? A good laugh was exactly what I needed.

Not one person here has made light of the events. There has simply been a little comic relief. :rolleyes:
