If the Church is in trouble, it is not because of Benedict.

It is because individual Catholics proudly trumpet their heresy, flock in great numbers to worship at the altar of secular news, and jump on the bandwagon of a Judas wannabe who slavers at his upcoming thirty pieces of silver.
I’m afraid that in many cases, this is so.

Is anyone else noticing the irony of this thread?

A priest says something that is disagreeable about the sitting pope.

Everyone (or, many) are calling for “swift action”, pointing out how it is “scandalous” and “harmful”, how it damages the Church, goes against the rules of his position, leaves the church and her flock vulnerable, etc etc etc…

…sooooo, no one is picking up on this?

As a second twist, this mans words brought me more comfort and understanding than all the “official statements” being released by the Church. Again, ironic that the man who might bring the most compassion to your cause is the one you vilify the most. Two scoops of irony…

Now thats Moxie, I wish more priests had his backbone.
Moxie, maybe, dissent, possibly. While not privy to the full context of his homily, it would not be what I would expect during the Liturgy of the Word. Not to mention that it could be viewed as potential disunity in the Church(surprise??). Also it’s disservce to his flock.

Definately not the place and time (in my opinion)…during the sacrafice of the Mass. It just strikes me as drawing attention to one’s self. If you want that go into politics. And I’m also tired of people of other faith’s chiming in about our faith. It’s bad enough we have other “catholics” bashing our faith.
