WE ARE ALL SINNERS!The “everybody else does it” justification did not work with my dad when I was a kid, and it does not work here. Other people sin, that does not give me a license to do the same.

We are all born into sin, we Christians have been raised to be a new creature. We are all called to be Saints and to work toward heaven.WE ARE ALL SINNERS!
Exactly, & God knows that we will fail again & again, when I go to confession, I see older people there , so they are old & still sinning, like myself, as long as we are on earth we will sin, no doubt. God knows our hearts, & that we are weak. All he asks is that we tryWe are all born into sin, we Christians have been raised to be a new creature. We are all called to be Saints and to work toward heaven.
When we fall, and are truely sorry, God will forgive us our sin and then we go back to striving toward heaven.
Can someone explain this above quote to me in regard to the CC.Theistgal was being clever! (You missspellledd the word).
Anyway, yes, according to the Catechism, it is a sin, although it depends on certain things as to how severe a sin it is. Here’s what the CCC says:
2352 By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. “Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action.” “The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose.” For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of “the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved.”
To form an equitable judgment about the subjects’ moral responsibility and to guide pastoral action, one must take into account the affective immaturity, force of acquired habit, conditions of anxiety or other psychological or social factors that lessen, if not even reduce to a minimum, moral culpability.
What I would suggest you do is talk to your priest about it during confession. He should be able to guide you further.
Hope this helps!
You are trying, & that is all God asks, do U realize how many people struggle with same sins a lifetime, ur not alone.God knows your heart is in the right placeCan someone explain this above quote to me in regard to the CC.
I have had a problem with this area of my life for some time and it was not until this year when I became a Catholic that I become so aware of the sinful nature. It is basically the main thing I end up going to Confession to at least once every other week.
I am considering going to professional therapy with this issue because it is rooted with porn addiction. I am really beat down by this and don’t feel Gods love for me even though I really want to stop the behavior. I get so sick of myself and don’t even want to go to Confession because I know I will do it again.
Does God really know that I hate what I do even though I keep doing it and want to obey His Church teachings?
Thanks for letting me rant.
Signed, Broken Spirit Catholic who needs help
No. In fact, most of us do it daily. To bathe oneself is fully authorized by the Catholic Church. Bathing ‘certain’ others, however, could definitely qualify as sinful, depending on circumstances and motives. Is this an act of sin?
Yes. “Wasting of seed,” is not the reasoning for the sinfulness of masturbation.Well I can see how male masturbation is a sin (wasting of the seed) but is it just as bad for us females?

It sounds like a name for a day spa for guys, but that’s just me.lolzalicious! No really it sounds like a new energy drink.
Since when does it matter what any one of us thinks? We have the scriptures and tradition. If what we think runs counter, then our thinking is disordered. That pertains to fornication, which in a way I dont even think thats sinful, my opinion only, but if I should commit it I will confess it. Again, God Knows man is weak, He knows man cannot control himself, again , thats why he sacrificed his Son for our sins, & the sins of all mankind. When You we look at life, & look at men & women, you can see that they were not meant to sit around with halos & twiddle their thumbs. We all go thru different stages of life, where we all do different sins, I think its suposed to be. I once heard a Priest say man is not as bad as he thinks he is, the greatest commandment is to love one another as I have loved you, only my opinion
i like that explanationLet’s say you buy an expensive device. The instructions that come with the device, that are written by the designer of the device, tell you that you will ruin the device if you use it underwater. You think it should be used underwater, so, you use it underwater. You ruin the device. Do you go back and say “but it should not be that way. I should be able to use this however I want.” That would be silly. The designer KNOWS how the system will work, and what will ruin it.
God designed the human person, He knows how our sexuality is to be used. It is best to follow the manufacturers instructions, or you will ruin the device and void the warranty.
Because we have minds to sort things outSince when does it matter what any one of us thinks? We have the scriptures and tradition. If what we think runs counter, then our thinking is disordered.
We have been set free FROM sin, not TO sin. That pertains to fornication, which in a way I dont even think thats sinful, my opinion only, but if I should commit it I will confess it. …and the pride to think we are smarter/wiser than the Magisterium.Because we have minds to sort things out
Not true, I dont believe that, we cant live in this mortal world without sinningWe have been set free FROM sin, not TO sin.
Yes, man is weak in the flesh. He is strong in the Spirit.
The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God… Therefore brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
Romans 6 and 8 have wonderful things to say about how we are to walk and think and submit ESPECIALLY when we are weak.
maybe we are at times…and the pride to think we are smarter/wiser than the Magisterium.
Regarding the 9** part… This makes even more sense to me than the whole “sin of Onan” from the Old Testament aspect of masturbation. Since God is in charge, (not us) we need to make a sincere best effort to resist doing this. Masturbation is always a matter for confession.-]/-]
It is astounding, but GOD knows this and the Bible speaks to that very thing![]()

1 Corinthians, Chapter 7:
8** Now to the unmarried and to widows, I say: it is a good thing for them to remain as they are, as I do,**
9** but if they cannot exercise self-control they should marry, for it is better to marry than to be on fire.**
that does not mean we should surrende to our carnal desires. Part of our spiritual growth is self-denialNot true, I dont believe that, we cant live in this mortal world without sinning
