Is Masturbation sin ? Because some says that its not, some says it is.
This is not Catholic teaching but your own opinion. You are entitled to your own opinion but all should know that this is not what the Catholic Church teaches nor what Catholics believe. My understanding is that it isn’t regarded as sinful as long as you aren’t fantasizing about anyone while commiting the act. In other words, the lust is sinful, but not the masturbation.
Without lust, after all, it just becomes the act of stroking part of your body. Why would that be wrong in itself? Is itching wrong because it is pleasurable?
Yes it is grave matter for *mortal sin *-- fantasizing or not…My understanding is that it isn’t regarded as sinful as long as you aren’t fantasizing about anyone while commiting the act. In other words, the lust is sinful, but not the masturbation.

The variety of opinions held by Catholics is far greater than you imagine, I think. I’m not aware of the Church’s “official” position on the matter, but there are certainly some Catholics who argue that, without lust, masturbation isn’t wrong. This is not Catholic teaching but your own opinion. Actually such is very incorrect. The Churches teaching - IS that it is gravely wrong and cannot be done. Period. One is not free to hold or tell others otherwise - anymore than one is free to say that killing ones wife is not grave…The variety of opinions held by Catholics is far greater than you imagine, I think. Since this is a forum wherein opinions like the above are meant to be shared, our friend should be made aware of this opinion held by several Catholics, should he not?
No debatable point there. See posts above -I added to my last.Bookcat:
The debatable point here is what “sexual pleasure” means. It is conceivable that a young person could masturbate before knowing the sexual function of that part of the body. It feels good in the same way that itching feels good, regardless of whether your intention is sexual or not.

Your opinion, is that of Evangelical James Dobson, and has been highly criticized by Catholics. Even without lust it spills the seed without its procreative function which is sinful. Just like Catholics cannot do that when having intercourse. The variety of opinions held by Catholics is far greater than you imagine, I think. When I was in RCIA, we were told that if you sinned in this fashion, you did not have to go to confession. Is this wrong? I wonder why there are different views. The variety of opinions held by Catholics is far greater than you imagine, I think. Unless you are addicted to masturbation, it is mortal sin. When I was in RCIA, we were told that if you sinned in this fashion, you did not have to go to confession. Is this wrong? I wonder why there are different views.
They won’t go to hell if they aren’t culpable or even if they are…just go to confession! Our Lord is faithful and just and forgiving!Masturbation is a mortal sin so basically 99.1 percent of people are going to hell?
Maybe I need new friends but I don’t know really know anyone who doesn’t.
Don’t get me wrong I accept the church’s teachings, but it’s hard to think about the fact that the majority of people will in fact die in mortal sin unless they don’t know it is or meet the 3 requirements for being mortal sin which it’s fair to say outside of Catholicism most don’t, heck even inside the church but even among those that do many don’t care or flat out reject it. I’m not gonna lie these are one of the sins I’m resentful about…it’s almost as if I had just never found out the true teaching I could just not worry about it. Doesn’t seem fair as the case with many other sins and growing in knowledge of the faith. I trust in God but I can’t help but feel annoyed at times. It also does not help to have priests teaching conflicting things on this matter.
