Matthew 1:25 Mary's perpetual virginity question?

I think the primary scriptural evidence that Mary remained a virgin is her response when Gabriel told her she was going to have a child.

A woman planning on having normal relations would have assumed she would get pregnant when she and Joseph moved in together.
Back in the very early days of CAF a teenager pointed that out.

Gabriel: You will conceive in your womb and bear a Son, and you will call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.

Mary: Oh, Joseph will be so pleased . . .

There are some other threads on the same topic that have more apologetic material.

A perhaps fine point, but a point nonetheless: The Archangel Gabriel told Mary that she would bear “a Son” - singular.

I agree, but from reading that that verse, its easy to see why all Protestant reject Marys perpetual virginity. But, at the cross we see Jesus telling John to take care of Mary. If Mary had any real sons and daughters, it would of then been their responsibility to take care of Mary.

Btw, because of John taking Mary home, I believe I’ve embraced that concept of inviting Mary into my home also. I never heard anybody say we must do this, but only believe she’s the Mother of God.

Anybody else invite Mary into your home also like the Apostle John?

Personally, I am convinced that the devil incites perhaps well-intentioned men to attack Mary, since he is prevented from touching her. It’s that entire “enmity” thing.

In that regard, a quick and illuminating read: Pedro Barrajon, Paul Badde: Hell is a state (28/12/2005) - signandsight
At the end, the priest says to the demon, “Go away! Disappear!” The
demon usually answers, “No, I don’t want to.” It rebels and revolts.
Sometimes it says “You have no power over me. You are nothing to me.”
But after a while, its resistance weakens. This usually happens after
the invocation of the Holy Mother, she’s very important for that.
No demon ever dares to insult her during an exorcism. Never.

Does he have more respect for Mary than for God himself?

Apparently. Otherwise no holds are barred, and everyone is insulted: the priests, everyone present, the bishops, the Pope, even Jesus Christ. But never the Virgin Mary. It’s an enigma.

Funny how demons dare not insult our blessed Mother, but humans do. I’ve personally heard some very gross things said about Mary that I are so bad I cannot even post them here.

But never the Virgin Mary . It’s an enigma.
I agreed with everything but his final line here. I see no mystery here. To me this is perfectly understandable. You can say or do whatever you want against me. I have huge shoulders and can take your anger. However, say something against the woman who brought me into this world and you will learn very quickly my full wrath.

I think the demons know where the line is drawn in the sand. I think they know what God will tolerate and they know the full wrath of God and they don’t dare cross that line.

Don’t mess with my mamma. 🤯

God Bless

As I believe, the evil one dupes and incites “bible Christians” to disdain, even hatred - since he himself is prevented from touching her. Imagine how frustrated he must be! When I stand before the judgment seat of Christ, I will not answer for disrespect shown to His mother!

The best Theological explanation given for Protestants is by Dr. Scott Hahn. He is on EWTN often and explains everything about our Precious Faith in The Holy Catholic Church. Also watch Dr. David Anders on EWTN. His program is for non-Catholic people who object to the Divine Catholic teaching and Doctrine. His show is called (Called To Communion). God Bless you on your journey defending the TRUTH our Precious Universal Church teaches. I am positive God The Holy Spirit will give you the words you are in need of for defending our Holy Catholic Church.
Blessings,
Your Sister In Christ Jesus

I Thank God and His Blessings to you!!!’ We all must defend Our Precious Mother who was given to us by Christ Jesus Himself!!!

This is true… also difficult with those who take language at face value

Worse they had no control of their destiny. It wasn’t the hostage part but wasting away with no chance of living their own life through no fault of their own…

It’s not unusual to hear someone say, he never drank a drop (of alcohol) until the day he died.

What, he started drinking after he died?
