As I understand it, the temple consisted of several separated structures within a walled area and was not a monolithic form such as the Parthenon. Thus, the term “buildings” could have been aggregated to mean the temple in its entirety.ου βλεπετε παντα ταυτα - “Do you not see all these?”
For “these” to all be simultaneously in sight of the disciples in that time and place, he could not have meant all human buildings, and the usual understanding has been a prophetic reference to the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in AD 70, about forty years after Jesus’ comment.
Which bible are you using? The temple Titus took down in 70 AD … Thanks all.

It is not the NAB. I quoted that earlier.Oh sorry … The New American Bible. Does that matter ? almost ever translation I’ve seen is basically the same, saying that the stones will be thrown down.
The concern was addressed already. I was just thinking that perhaps there was some figurative language or deeper meaning behind the scripture.
I was not the only one asking which Bible.Alright first of all, you need to calm down.
The meaning is specific, I thought the scripture might have been amibiguous - hence my suggestion of all man made structures being taken down.
And what is with the kind of bible ?? The scripture is basically the same in almost every translation/bible I have seen online. I have a physical NAB, and that scripture is almost verbatim with each online translation I’ve seen.
???
Chill out.
Some Evangelicals get carried away with this. I have heard it said that all man made structures, institutions, creations, laws, relationships, etc., will be destroyed at the end of time.Alright first of all, you need to calm down.

Not in a literalistic way though. The sanctuary was actually destroyed by fire (Josephus claimed that it was accidental - according to him Titus ordered that the Temple be spared), but not before the Romans looted it.That prophecy was fulfilled literally as the invading Roman army dismantled the Temple stone by stone seeking gold among the stones .
