The largest religion in the world is Roman Catholicism, but the majority doesn’t make it right. As a matter of fact, God’s Word teaches that the majority is always wrong when it comes to religion. In the book of Matthew chapter seven, Jesus paints a very bleak picture of this fact. In Matthew 7:13-15, Jesus says, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for WIDE is the gate, and BROAD is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and MANY there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and NARROW is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” My friend, I want to be counted with the few that find the narrow way to life everlasting.

He infers from Matthew 7:14-15 that, since the majority of people take the Catholic path, it must be wrong.

He probably won’t accept the idea that his logic applies to a Christian majority, as he claims the kind of Fundamentalist that says most people who claim to be Christians aren’t actually saved.

Anyone got a response?

I am not going to argue with you. I do not like to debate subjects with provocative people who get kicks doing this on the internet.
My response to your premise is that anyone can twist the words of any part of the bible to mean anything they wish. This is what is commonly done by the Sola Scripturium people!
IMHO we should believe only the interpretation of Scripture as given to us in the Catholic Magisterium.
As we have been given in the New Testament, we should all be like little children in our Faith. We should not attempt to debate or argue scripture. All that does for most people is to turn them off religion.

The majority of the world is not Catholic. We are ~1 billion out of ~7.
We just happen to be the second largest. We are larger than any single other religion except Islam because we have the protection of God in his mission to make disciples of all nations.

:hmmm: perhaps we need to look at the context a little.
Are the TEACHINGS of the Catholic church conducive to a wide path or rather to a narrow path?
Is the Catholic church bending it’s teachings to accomodate to the wims of the “majority” of the culture?

Think NOT! The wide path that leads to perdition is straying away from the teachings of Jesus AND His representative down here the “Holy Apostolic Roman Catholic Church”
👍

Also a majority of Catholics are Catholic in name only. They do not practice The faith. Just being Catholic doesn’t give you a get in free pass to heaven. We must follow Christ and most dont. This guy is just another clown who dislikes Catholics.

What I find interesting is how those who tell us that the literal intepretation of Matthew 7:13-15 is the correct interpetation, always assume that they are the few and everyone else are the many.

They seem to ignore God’s own stated desire that all men be saved.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 timothy 2:1-4)

They seem to ignore many of Christ’s teachings about the virtue of humility, not judging others and lack of presumption as part of the strict requirements for entry into heaven.

Also, just a little bit further, Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father”.

There are 7 billion people on the Earth. 1.2 billion Catholics is a very small minority. We’ve still got a lot of work to do, so let’s get going and not waste our time on this nonsense.
