Okay, so I was watching a video from the followers of the May 21 “End of the World” conspiracy, and one guy said, “The reason the Church is in such bad shape is because God has removed His hand from it and has brought judgement.” So, were these people once Catholics themselves?

Where do you believe that these were former Catholics?Even if they were they aren’t practicing Catholics now.You have to remember that non Catholic christians call the church the whole body of christians. The Catholics call the Church the people in the Catholic Church. We Catholics look at christians outside the CC as christians who have fallen away from the 1 true church.THey interpret the Bible differently than we do and therefore they see themselves as being able to predict the end.Catholics still believe that no one knows when the end will be but only the Father.

I’m glad God will NEVER remove His hand or Holy Spirit from the Church:) The real reason the Church looks in such bad shape is our weak human flesh.

I don’t know what they were, but apparently they didn’t read the bible very well:

“But of that day and hour no one knoweth, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone.” - Matthew 24:36

and

“And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” - Matthew 16:18

No one knows when the last day will come, and God promised that nothing will overcome the Church. If they were Catholic before, these people have lost their faith in God because of scandal and now have allowed themselves to seduced into believing a charlatan.

I just watched it…first it did not look like it came from Camping…then, it does come from Camping…

This is what I will tell them on May 22nd, through the pleading and intercession of the Blessed Mother, Christ postponed the Rapture…:p:D

My biggest aggravation with this group is that those who might be considering Christianity, but don’t know an awful lot about it are going to be looking at this group as some sort of mouthpiece for the Christian faith et all. And when things don’t happen on the 21st (as they won’t), they’ll simply look at all Christians, including Catholics, as just a bunch of nut job yahoos that bark at the sun. They won’t give Christianity even another thought. All thanks to Harold Camping.

And that Jesus said that since everyone hated him first, they would hate us as well.

Can’t wait for May 22nd. Wish I had a list of the people in his congregation. I’d love to invite them to Mass.

Laughing! That is such a perfect response! I’ll probably ignore the whole thing, but if I should choose to say anything on the 22nd, mind if I borrow this?

Yes, of course…i was just thinking, if I happen to run into a tv or radio crew conducting interviews about Camping’s prediction, this is what I will say…😃

A priest I follow on Tumblr had a question.

If the world does actually end on the 21st, does that mean the Green Bay Packers will be world champions forever? 😉
