im reminded of a joke i saw “If the world ends in 2012, in what timezone will it end?” 😃

I think all this ‘I predict the end of the world’ and the ‘i predict the return of Christ’ are all rather foolish. Its like one person said he would quit his job in 2012 because ‘it wouldnt matter’…and if the world DOESN’T end what then? 🤷

but if Christ does return I hope it plays out like this youtube.com/watch?v=hf3wRyDgVqA (joke starts at 2:20) 😃

So we’ve finally arrived? Tell you what, you wouldn’t know it by turning on the television and seeing Charlie Sheen, Lady Gada, and Gaddafi consume the news the last two weeks 😃

I believe we should ban television till the age of 18, then re-direct the children to the local library. They seem to have forgotten they exist.

haha in my schooldays I practically LIVED in the local library. I hated Sundays because it was closed 😃

If Harold Camping is wrong on this prediction, like he was on his 1994 prediction, will he finally admit he is a false profit and quit his ministry?

Well, let’s all just keep the lamps fillled with oil and the wicks trimmed.

Anything could happen at any time.

well that’s a big laugh on the 2012 theorists, are their faces going to be red when the world ends early

Nah, they’ll just complain that the Julian and Gregorian calendars loused things up and that if we had calculated from Christ’s REAL date of birth the world WOULD have ended exactly on the appropriate date of 2012.

Also on the positive side of the coin, if the “Rapture” happens on May 21 there will be a lot of property available for the taking on the 22. (Unfortunately most of it will be in red states.) Also, if the Rapture happens, Sarah Palin will probably not be elected in 2012.

I don’t know if this is a new topic or not, or even in the right part of the forum. But today I saw RV’s full of protestant fundamentalist at the local wal-mart with banners on their RV’s that stated as such that. " World wide earth quake May 21, 2011 and rapture". After an intense hour of Google, I found out that the world is ending in just 4 months. But at least I’ll have time to finish my school semester. Has anyone seen heard or know anything about this statement that is made. The RV’s had banners that said family radio, and ebible somthing.com anyway just thought i 'd through this out here.

 Cheers!
I never heard of this particular doomsday prophecy. I thought the end of the world was supposed to be 12/21/2012.

I wonder what the next date the fundies are gonna pick once 12/21/2012 comes and goes?😃

Um, he’s not a Fundie; he claims to be “Reformed.” But the Reformed disowned him after his last failed prediction. He basically thinks he’s the Protestant Pope, i.e., “Don’t attend church; just listen to me.”

My prediction on 5-21-11, I will be laughing.
Please be careful of your laughter. Jesus will return to Earth on May 21 2011, and those who are not truly faithful will be left on Earth in torment while the believers will be saved in the Rapture. Took me a while to believe it too, but we cannot be too careful. The disasters occurring around the world will soon set off a Nuclear Disaster that will likely mask the return of Jesus to those blind to his power, but I HIGHLY suggest reading up on the topic…

We are told, flat out, in the bible, that no one, not even Jesus, knows the day of his return. Logically, this means that ANY prediction regarding the end of the world is necessarily and automatically wrong. Yes, I know Camping’s tag line, “Noah knew”. However, Noah knew because he was directly told by God. At the time the earth flooded, it was also never said that no one would know when it was coming. Was Camping directly told by God? No. He literally INVENTED a formula and calculated the day from it, the same thing he did before. After just one false prophecy regarding the end of the world, that makes one, BY DEFINITION, a false prophet.

So God is now a liar, is that what you have us believe??? That God chose Camping to Divinely reveal to him and him alone what he would not reveal to his own Son Christ Himself, the Angles, and the Apostles. When God said in Sacred Scripture in Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone”. That was just babble? Or do you not believe in the written Word of God? Just curious as to here you are coming from. 🤷

I think the best thing is to just be prepared whatever day it comes…make peace everyday, especially those you have wronged and forgive those who have wronged you…and live in a state of grace always…as the bible says, work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

Interesting that this topic is still “up”
I had my car radio on yesterday morning on my way to Mass and guess what I heard?
Oh, go ahead - guess!
I listened to this guy ramble on and on trying to frighten everyone with in earshot of his voice. He made a point of sounding quite reasonable (the better to lure you in I guess) with all his date setting and how he got there.
Just as the jws, I wonder how this prediction will be back peddled away from on 5/22/2011.
