Dave forgot to respond to the title of the title of the thread, however, so here goes:

“…and with thy spirit.”

😃

And also with you. The days I remember being an acolyte and believing that one day I could be a Priest. I’ve come very far from those days where now I just want to live for God and worship and serve Him the right way.

I’m saved, born again by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. I realized I don’t need to be celibate or dress in fancy robes to really serve God. I could serve just as well if not better by just believing in Him and putting all my trust on His Son.

You don’t have to believe me or charismatic Baptist preachers or Priests or Bishops or Deacons or your Pope…believe his Word and the words he preserved in Scripture. Not the words that all of sudden showed up when God said His word was forever…it didn’t just magically appear new scripture in the 20th century. How do you explain the King James Bible was the only English Bible used for almost 400 years? Did God not give His preserved word to those generations? Of course he did! And he did it with the King James Bible…the ones nowadays have perverted His word and destroyed it and they will find themselves judged one day…did you ever wonder why the King James Version is always being attacked? It’s Satan’s work because he knows it’s the true word of God.

Don’t believe me though, believe in God! Believe he can save you from eternal damnation and put your faith in His Son…call out His name and the Holy Spirit will enter you and show you the right way.

Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For
with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession
is made unto salvation.”

That is ALL you need to do to have eternal salvation and be with Christ for all of eternity in Heaven!

Matthew 24:35, the Lord Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”

And they have not, in the King James Version…they are still there for you to read and to love and to be saved by. You can be saved without the King James Version and I hope you still do! But, once you do get saved you’ll realize those other Bibles have been watered down and are the work of Satan.

Brothers and Sisters, repent and believe on Jesus Christ because He is the only way…

I’m sure I’ve worn out my welcome, I’ll be praying as I pray for Catholic family…you are being deceived.
I am pleased to see one of God’s children so on fire with the love of Christ. The world needs more of that. While I don’t subscribe to much of your theology, I respect your passion.

One last thought, the salvation that you look for (God willing) will come to you through the Church that Jesus established with His apostles. The Catholic Church through which all graces flow.

I’ll keep you in my prayers…

May God continue to bless you with

I certainly don’t want to come across as a wet blanket but I feel somebody ought maybe to take a little time out to furnish a serious rebuttal to the points raised by the Original Poster who may perhaps feel the levity is out of place. A lively rebuttal might lift his sprits because he’d realize that he was being taken seriously. It might even help him discard the irritating burden of having continually to default to anti–Catholic rhetoric in order to justify his worldview.
I sympathize with what you’re saying, Mick. However, I am not sure that a serious reply can be furnished (bless blazerdave for trying). I am sure the charges are serious to his way of thinking. I am not sure that objectively makes them serious, though.
Indeed. Still, blazerdave did do a first–class job.

I mean, he’s apparently in Germany at the present time, which is enough to depress anyone. I spent a year there when I served in the military (BAOR) and it was awful. The whole place is full of Germans. 😉

Jawohl,

Study up on Christian history brother, I am not a Protestant. Independent Baptists were there before the reformation and were NEVER part of the Catholic Church. The blood of the saints is on the Catholic Church and Protestant Church…those saints are the ones that truly believed in the Word of God and preached. Baptists were KILLED by Catholics and Protestants but we were there before you. Search on it, look it up…I tell you the truth.
I am in the midst of reading Christian History. It has much in it that I assumed wrongly. As evidently you have. The Baptist began around the 17the century. The Independent Baptist appeared around the 18th.
The ideas of the Baptist were foreign to the Apostles. When the Spirit descended on Pentecost Day, that was the beginning of the Catholic Church. The Church Jesus said He was building on Peter our first Pope. There was only one Church that existed and it wasn’t baptist nor did it espouse that wrong thinking. There were many heresies but what baptist believed didn’t exist. I suggest that you do not have a true history but a faerie tale to cover up that you are indeed a protestant,
