Yeah, that was one of those things I had to deal with as a Evangelical. Even if the charge of Catholics honoring Mary too much is true, why is it that we, practically speaking, don’t honor her much, at all?Hi Patrick.
What bugs me more is the reaction to those who do not believe some of it. Like we do not love her as much, nor honor her as much, even ignore her and have less depth of understanding or appreciating her, or are sex crazed (not seeing her perpetual virginity), like one reality is “fuller” than another. Or that what is today has always been with Marion doctrine, that it is all apostolic, from the apostles and the very first churches.
There is no better honor, and love, and appreciation, and depth, than rendering her truthfully. No more, no less.
Blessings
And there in lies the rub … Mary cannot be both “perpetually Virgin” and not … so ask the same question Pilot asked … “What is Truth?”Hi Patrick.

Totally agree.:yup::yup::yup:What bothers me is that the teachings about the Mother of God are not talked about enough.
Exactly. What bothers me is that the teachings about the Mother of God are not talked about enough.
I admire, respect and love Mary for the immense and potentially terrifying request from God to accept His request to become the place for Christ to begin His life on Earth as an incarnated human being. She must have had a difficult time actually understanding how God would accomplish this since, as she asked, “How can this be? I am a virgin.” Luke 1:34. Joseph could have become angry and thrown her out and had her stoned but he followed God’s message as well. I honor her as she took her job seriously and, not only helped Joseph bring up this special Son, but also became part of the group of disciples who traveled around with our Messiah.Dearends in Christ

Not sure how to break this to you or your readers Patrick, but sadly Mary or Marian devotionals has become moot to the Christian movement. All you have to do is google “Christian devotionals” and Mary or Marian devotionals are very hard to find. Mary has been replaced by other well know Christians telling us how to act, who we should listen to, or praying for us.Dearends in Christ

Excellent book.Once upon a time I had some issues, but not since reading Hail, Holy Queen, by Scott Hahn.
Nothing, since being non-catholic I am not bound by it.Dearends in Christ

So many people I know have left the Catholic Church for other Christian churches. Right here on this forum, many who post are listed as ex. or former Catholics. Mary is for me the reason why I could never, ever leave the Catholic Faith…I’d miss the living daylights out of her!![]()
Peace, Mark
Thanks. You make my point. You do however illumine the fact that both sides can exaggerate.Yeah, that was one of those things I had to deal with as a Evangelical. Even if the charge of Catholics honoring Mary too much is true, why is it that we, practically speaking, don’t honor her much, at all?
