Maybe the church has lost sight of the true meaning of the gospels. Jesus taught compassion to everyone. He even said that how you treat the poor and the people in jail (sinners) is how you treat Jesus. So what does the church do?

They stop funding a charity that feeds the homeless because they support gay marriage and they stop provided spouses healthcare in Washington DC because there is a chance they would have to give a same sex partner healthcare.
Honestly, how PETTY! The church has become so homophobic. OK, I understand, the church sees homosexual acts as a sin and doesn’t recognize gay marriage, but they don’t recognize a lot of other legal marriages as well. I bet there were a LOT of people that they were giving insurance to through invalid marriages, but as soon as there is just a possibility they might have to give insurance to a same sex spouse they cut off insurance for everyone? Are you serious? How is this right?
And in terms of the homeless shelter…all they did was sign a petition to legalize gay marriage. Does that effect their day to day activities? Does that effect the people they help and the people that they feed everyday? Are those people now worth less to the church because of their views? PATHETIC.
I have heard all the excuses on here…"Jesus said “go and sin no more”…well according to the church those that are a part of invalid marriages are in just as much sin as the gay couples, right? There is a HUGE double standard here. The church is SUPER homophobic and make it seem like homosexuality is the worst sin ever. Where is the compassion that Jesus preached?
The church is throwing the first stone here. They have totally, TOTALLY, lost sight of Jesus’ message of compassion to everyone and it sickens me. It is pathetic!
