Mayor wants Trump to delay Phoenix rally

*The mayor of Phoenix, Arizona, issued a statement Wednesday night urging President Trump to delay his campaign rally in the city while “our nation is still healing” from the violence that took place in Charlottesville, Va.

“It is my hope that more sound judgement prevails and that he delays his visit," Mayor Greg Stanton (D) said in a statement, also saying he is “disappointed” with the president.*

The Seattle rally went well.
Mayors need to learn how to enable peaceful assembly.

Also, comparing an official campaign rally to a protest march about a statue is not reasonable.

I don’t think the mayor of Phoenix was comparing a campaign rally with a protest march. It is just that there should be a brief period of healing before we get right back to the business of “rah rah rah, aren’t I great!”
 
Last year when Black racists Micah Xavier Johnson and Gavin Eugene Long combined to fatally shoot 8 people while wounding 12 more, did anyone suggest that Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders temporarily suspend holding public rallies so that we as a nation could begin the healing process ?

Did Hillary or Bernie go on TV and tell lies to defend the killers? Was there any support among liberals for those killings?
 
No they didn’t, just as President Trump didn’t defend the actions of James Alex Fields.

On several occasions Sanders and HRC came out against the violent protests and troubles.

Her family was hurt, none of us here even knew her.
She wasn’t from Phoenix.
Life doesn’t need to stop while the wheels of justice turn for the perpetrator.

It won’t heal, so there’s no purpose in it. Trump was elected and the left is absolutely determined to rule no matter what it has to do. Trump stands in their way at present.

So nothing will change.

Much of the nation shares in the grief, whether they knew the victim or not.

I did not know a single person killed or injured in the 9/11 attacks, but I shared in the grief, as you probably did too.

Truer words were never spoken! Shameful and despicable what the left is doing to our country. We have a duly elected president,who they cannot stomach,so rather than accept the results and respect the votes that put him in office they are determined to keep the chaos going.

My statement was meant as a joke. I agree with your point about Trump. If the president
survives his term it will be a miracle.

Accepting the results of a legal election does not mean abandoning all legal means to oppose policies they think need to be opposed. The chaos is entirely Trump-created. Just look at how he has insulted just about everyone, including those who are nominally on his side.

And it’s not shameful to openly lie to the American public about the counter-protestors who we now know also had permits? Trump’s mouth is what keeps the chaos going - all he had to do was stick with the script his advisors gave him.

He’s bringing back jobs, being strong on national defense and illegal immigration is down 64%

Doing well on the stuff people actually do care about long-term 👍
