NBC Sacks Pro-Life Super Bowl Ad

Network Nixes Commercial Celebrating Potential of Life

CHICAGO, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ – NBC has rejected an uplifting and positive pro-life ad submitted for its Super Bowl broadcast this Sunday. After several days of negotiations, an NBC representative in Chicago told CatholicVote.org today that NBC and the NFL are not interested in advertisements involving “political advocacy or issues.”

Please write NBC and complain.

God bless.

Look on the bright side (not that there’s many bright sides when it comes to abortion, but anyway),

We’ve got our foot in the door. Maybe next year.

They also sacked a reprehensible PETA ad that showed scantily clad ladies cavorting with vegetables, to the effect that being a vegetarian improves your love life.

I guess my point is that they have sacked things besides pro-life ads.

The point is that NBC gave PETA a chance by editting out the sexual suggestiveness that may have crossed the line based on certain guidelines. This is hardly sacking PETA’s ad. If PETA edits, their ad will air. The same cannot be said for CatholicVote.org’s ad. NBC simply will not air it because of their supposed non-support of advocacy groups. But here lies the rub - PETA is an advocacy group. Double standard…
