The news is not appetizing but he will be back! Minus girlfriend.
 
He is a traditional Catholic and was married to a person he said was going to hell for not belonging to the “church”. He probably will apply for a pauline privelage and because of his money get it.

Assuming he will apply to the real Catholic Church for this.

I think he’ll apply to the church he owns.
 
It’s hard to ignore this, it’s so in your face. Isn’t this the same actor that went to daily confession while filming the Passion of the Christ?

Yes. Obviously, he needs to do so again. Have you ever fallen away from your faithfulness?

There is nothing wrong with fraternally correcting him regarding his choices, but remember to pray for him.

I think there is something ‘extreme’ in Mel’s personality. Like an extreme pendalum he may have to swing far to ea. side before finding a balance and home in the church w/ Pope Benedict leading, not a pope from years ago.
 
Daily confession during The passion. 🤷 You think he was holy or good during that? His true intention with that creation came clear when he was pulled over drunk. As so many say the truth is in the wine. Everyone here included me doubted the Jews that spoke out about it. Well it wasnt, it was to serve the same dark and evil purpose of those old passion plays did to persecute those “perfidious jews” as the church loved to called them. If I could return it I would, I just threw it way and made a donation to a synagogue. I hope God will have mercy on me for the harm I have done to his people by supporting that Nazi propaganda.
 
Thanks for reminding me that I need to pick up another copy of The Passion, Polaris. My old copy seems to have been lost somewhere. You appear to have a great deal of disdain for your Traditionalist brothers and sisters, up to and including snide remarks about Our Lord’s Good Friday Liturgy in the Mass for 500 years. In the interest of fraternal correction, I urge you to examine your attitude towards these issues.
 
It’s easy to make judgements on Mel Gibson’s behavior without knowing the man personally. Mr. Gibson has admitted publicly to suffering from Manic depression (Bipolar). And being that I myself suffer from depression and have a family member who is Bipolar. The erratic behavior of a person suffering with Manic depression where you have extreme ups and downs is symptomatic of his disease.

Really….all the circumstances….involved are not known. I mean we don’t know Mel personally or his wife – or what problems they may have had. One thing we do know is that they have been married for a very long time – what? 30 some odd years and Mel would bring his family with him if he were to be away for a long period of time shooting some movie.

We don’t know what hurts or misunderstandings or personal problems the two have had. What caused the split – or when or how he took up with his new girlfriend. What conversations they’ve had – etcetera.

Because Mel is a man of faith and made the movie “The Passion” does not mean that he is impeccable – but one can see why people would hold him to a higher standard and thus you have this discussion. It hurts people to see someone who they look up to as a person of faith to fall short. This is understandable.

What I’m trying to say really – is that the whole situation is sad and we must be careful not to throw those stones – or to judge too harshly the speck we see in our brother’s eye. “For with what measure you mete is shall be measured again unto you.”

So lets keep Mel in the circle of Christian believers and have our best wishes and prayers to Mel and his wife and children during this hurtful period in their lives.

I was thinking that Satan probably started double- and triple- teaming on Mel Gibson after The Passion was so successful. We must definitely pray for Mel Gibson…for his conversion.
 
A man in his position is going to be a magnet for ‘da laydees’. Also, he’s in Hollywood, the Capital of Glossy Lies. Easy to lose your moral compass, there, I reckon.

I hope he comes to his senses.
 
Psycobabble doesn’t excuse sin, and no matter who you are adultery and fornication are condemned over and over and over by Christ himself. When you are in your last 2 or 3 decades is it worth adding to your suffering through serious sin, I don’t think so. With eternal judgement looming and the stakes so high anyone who has been seriously Catholic would never risk Hell and it’s horror at this point.

Yep it just goes to show how Satan can destroy anybody, St. Paul, in his Letter or Epistle to the Ephesians speaks about the war against principalities and powers.
I feel sorry for Mel, he knows what position he has put his soul in, that’s why he asks for prayers, however we all have free will and I’m afraid he made his bed, like all, I hope he will repent before he dies. One asks is it worth it all, sad he may end up a very lonely old man. 😦
we must all pray for each other God be with us 😉
