how many different studies do i have to display on this forum before you guys stop saying “1 study doesnt make it fact?”
benjie identifies himself as Catholic in his profile and yet says there is no God to blame. I recommend ignoring him from now on.

nope-yer got it wrong there darlin. Im not blaming any god as theres no god to blame-im saying that if we were created in his image-why have physical reproductive organs when, until the applefeast, we were “supposedly” designed for non-sexual reproduction-if penises were designed for urination-why didnt both man and woman have them-why the reproductive system akin to most mammels if it was originally not suppposed to be used-doesnt make sense-but im sure y’all will find the alswer in scripture LOL
Man is composed of a body and a soul. The sex organs are not simply an instrumental good that we can abuse as we choose.

so-ignorance is the finality of theological debate?-you guys dont seem to get it-there is a major flaw right at the beginning, but y’all just plow on through-blackballing anyone who raises any issues-am asking for an answer here-cant anyone give a rational answer to that question without resorting to ignorance?
PS-I was baptised a Catholic-as i now realise that everything i was taught is utter porkeria-does that make me a non-catholic? will update if thats the case 🙂

It has nothing to do with not being able to respond, it has everything to do with interacting with someone being dishonest. Yes, someone who claims to be Catholic and denies the existence of God is not a Catholic. If you say that it is an oversight and that you will correct it, I’ll accept that. When someone says they are Catholic and denies Catholic teaching, we do respond differently than when someone is a non-believer. So thinking you were a Catholic I naturally responded with Catholic teaching in a mistaken notion that we had common ground there. That not really being the case, we have to approach it differently.

ok-so,as an agnostic-will someone answer the question?

Is the question I quoted above the question you want answered, Benjie? If so, I’m afraid I don’t understand it completely. You seem to be asking why God would give us sexual organs if we were originally (before the fall) designed for non-sexual reproduction, and why God would give us sexual organs in any case if we arn’t supposed to use them. My answer is, I havn’t ever heard that we were originally designed for non-sexual reproduction, and I certainly havn’t heard from anyone that we are not supposed to use our reproduction organs at all.

What gave you the idea that Catholic teaching says God designed us for non-sexual reproduction? Human beings have always been beings of both body and spirit, and to the best of my knowlede, their reproduction was supposed to be both spiritual and physical. In fact, I’ve heard before that Lewis and Chesterton speculate that the physical pleasure from sex was probably much greater before the fall, because sin only degrades and destroys in the long-run.

God gave us physical reproductive organ so that we could image his love for us. Clearly, our reproductive structure is similar to that of animals, but there are major differences in our sexualities. When is the last time you saw human beings mate during one season, or a cat crying because some male cat had sex with her and then ignored her? Our organs are similar to those of animals, but they are clearly human. Our sexualities are clearly different, and so, sex for humans can be meant to image God’s love while animal sex is not meant for that.

I hope I’ve started to answer your question; could you reword it for me so I can understand it better? God bless!

Where did you get the impression that we were designed for non-sexual reproduction? Are you saying that God didn’t have a plan? Was woman an afterthought? Just because he said “it’s not good that man should be alone” and THEN created woman, doesn’t mean that he didn’t plan that all along. Why would he create all the others for procreation and not man? This seems to be the same argument that people use for a lot of sins (If God didn’t want me to do this, he wouldn’t have made me this way).
