Mesa priest among 5 arrested in underage prostitution sting

Fr. Solomon Bandiho, former parochial administrator Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona, was arrested December 13 in a sting operation that targeted prostitution involving minors. Four others were arrested in operation, which Mesa police call Buyer Beware.
Rob DeFrancesco, a spokesman for the diocese, said the diocese learned about Bandiho’s arrest on Friday afternoon. Bandiho’s faculties as a priest have been removed, meaning that he is barred from public ministry, he said.

I have gone to him for confession. A very nice and very smart man.

Truly very sad. I will keep him in my prayers.
 
Here we go! Give him the benefit of the doubt. But still. It seems pretty clear.

When’s the last time a priest did something like this in the US?

I think this is the first one in a while.
 
If true, this is sad and another scandal, but I am glad evil is being brought into the open. God is purifying His church.
 
Please pray for Fr. Bandiho and ALL our priests and religious - the devil and his minions especially target them.
 
if this is true, this is otherwise unspeakable evil in the church. Doesn’t anybody know what’s going on in their dioceses?

The bishops are so defensive of their dioceses and then they seemingly get caught flat-footed when the news breaks.

You must not know very much about Bishop Olmsted to paint him in this light.
 
Wow thats really horrible. I know this is beside the point but I don’t understand people wanting to be part of the corrupting of a minor, it baffles me.
