So you believe Jesus is the Messiah, but when it comes to defining Messiah/Christ, you come up blank?
.
what about defining what “appeared” to be crucified? or the virgin birth?
when it comes to Jesus, you will find many blank looks yet the author od the Quran is supposed to clear those who are in “doubt”.

No wonder St Francis preached to birds and foxes. 🤷 He wanted to be listened to for once. The stiff necked generation was founded by Adem (Eve pestered him into doing it) and continues to this day. 😦 I long ago dispaired of anything better, but I still love you. 😉

It is well known by a confirmed Hadith that a Masiha was propmised by the prophet fro the Ummah like a Masiha for the Jews. From that hadith, it appears that that Masiha is not the old Israeli prophet, i.e. the son of Mary. It will have to be a new person and he will be a leader (Imam) for the Muslims.

There will be no religious wars. Nobody should kill any one for the sake of religion only.
Hi

Muhammad mentioned two different kind of features for Jesus- the Messiah of the Jews and another kind of features for the Messiah of Islam i.e. Jesus in Second Coming 1835-1908.

(39) Narrated Ibn Umar: The Prophet said, “I saw Moses, Jesus and Abraham (on the night of my Ascension to the heavens). Jesus was of red complexion, curly hair and a broad chest. Moses was of brown complexion, straight hair and tall stature as if he was from the people of Az-Zutt.” Bukhari (Book #55, Hadith #648)

(5) Narrated Abdullah: The Prophet mentioned the Massiah Ad-Dajjal in front of the people saying, Allah is not one eyed while Messsiah, Ad-Dajjal is blind in the right eye and his eye looks like a bulging out grape. While sleeping near the Ka’ba last night, I saw in my dream a man of brown color the best one can see amongst brown color and his hair was long that it fell between his shoulders. His hair was lank and water was dribbling from his head and he was placing his hands on the shoulders of two men while circumambulating the Kaba. I asked, ‘Who is this?’ They replied, ‘This is Jesus, son of Mary.’ Behind him I saw a man who had very curly hair and was blind in the right eye, resembling Ibn Qatan (i.e. an infidel) in appearance. He was placing his hands on the shoulders of a person while performing Tawaf around the Ka’ba. I asked, 'Who is this? 'They replied, ‘The Masih, Ad-Dajjal.’ " Bukhari (Book #55, Hadith #649)

It is very clear from the above that features of Jesus- the Messiah of the Jews are quite different and he is not to come again since he died a natural and peaceful death and is buried in Siringar, India.

The features of Messiah of Islam i.e. the Second Coming 1835-1908 are quite different. Two different persons obviously.

Thanks

this is not the opinion of mainstream Muslims. Quran clearly says that Jesus (p) did not die on the cross & he is the sign of the last day. How it’s possible that he is dead & buried already ?

I understand it’s the opinion of minor group among Muslims. So , I request you to mention it while replying specially in a non-Muslim forum; otherwise non-Muslims won’t get the whole picture of Islamic view about Jesus (p).

Lets get something historically streight. The Quran as it exists is the creation of the Sultan Omar who, to streighten his hold on the Ottimon Empire against the Christian West confiscated all manuscripts of what prepoprted to be the alledged revelation of God to Muhammad, then issued his “official” version with the justification that all the manuscripts were miracalously identical. One would think that the Ottimons, who were absolutely anel-retentitive in keeping records would have preserved the relics of such a myrical, but not one exists. He destroyed them all. If any so exist, the one bringin it to light faces the same fate as Salmon Ruski. The Sultin built that into the system. Face it! We will never know what Muhamad channeled, if indeed that historic war lord and desert briggand (no insult, that’s Islomic history) did. It’s lost in the propaganda of the political ambissions of a long dead empire which like the rabbits imported into Australia for a private hunting party has become pestiferous. Sorry, but when you produce an original manuscript I’ll be willing to consider your points. And don’t point to that old excuse that Muhammad was illerate. There were written records of what he dictated.

Muhamad got a hold of a lot of Christian herricies in his youth. One of them was “Adoptionsim” which maintained that Jesus became God the Son at His baptism by John and that God the Son left Jesus to die alone on the cross. Got to check your sources!

inJesus, Red & White.
Red and White; that makes pink doesn’t it? Of course I have students who insist that he was black, along with the Greek born Roman installed susaran queen Nefratety (did I spell that right? it’s about the only thing I’m not good at, just not anel-retentitive I guess 😊 ).

The preacher, I hope none of above is true. Muhammad did not take anything from any one except from Allah through an angel. WE do not believe that Jesus became God after his baptism. We do not believe that God the Son left Jesus to die alone on the cross. From where have you learnt these things?. We Muslims have no problem with Jesus at all and we do not believe any of the things quoted by you.

I respect the fact that what you say is the the cornerstone of your faith. I am comissioned to warn you that your hope is in vane. I really think you would do well to plumb the depths of your own history. I will pray for you. 😦

the words used by Muhammad were the same ones used by Gnostics.

Yup. One place where the Church and Islam are at opposite ends of the spectrum is that the Church encourages serious investigation: archeological, historical, and scientific. Islam lobbs your head off a’ la “The Saitonic Verses.” By the way: I use the film “The Matrix.” the original one to introduce my students to the Gnostic myth. Just substitute a mad Demiurge for the computers and you’ve ot a pretty good start on it. 👍

The Church encourages such investigation to a point. Pope John Paul II encouraged scientists to investigate cosmological events around the big band but instructed them not to investigate that phenomena itself.

The Church has reformed itself a great deal in the last few decades but the index of prohibited books, the murder of Jan Hus, and other historical events cast your black and white portrayal of Christianity and Islam into serious question. The reaction of some Muslims surrounding the Satanic Verses was unfortunate, but before you take to much personal satisfaction from this I would ask you to remember Aquinas’s teachings that heretics out to be executed by the state. With all due respect, from a historical perspective, you Church’s actions and reactions with regards to criticisms has been less than exemplary.

*With regard to heretics there are two points to be observed, one on their side, the other on the side of the Church. As for heretics their sin deserves banishment, not only from the Church by excommunication, but also from this world by death. To corrupt the faith, whereby the soul lives, is much graver than to counterfeit money, which supports temporal life. Since forgers and other malefactors are summarily condemned to death by the civil authorities, with much more reason may heretics as soon as they are convicted of heresy be not only excommunicated, but also justly be put to death.

But on the side of the Church is mercy which seeks the conversion of the wanderer, and She condemns him not at once, but after the first and second admonition, as the Apostle directs. Afterwards, however, if he is still stubborn, the Church takes care of the salvation of others by separating him from the Church through excommunication, and delivers him to the secular court to be removed from this world by death. (ST II:II 11:3)*

I would hope you do not impart such biased and self gratifying methods of analysis to your students.

So is Jesus of red or brown complexion according to Muhammad?
does not matter at all . What will we do with his complexion ? Salvation is not depending on it.

Here is the most important matter Islam teaches about Jesus (p) :

Christ will never be proud to reject to be a slave to God , nor the angels who are near
( to God )…holy Quran , Chapter Women , verse 172 ( 4: 172 )

Also I think in his final speech Muhammad attacked racism and made it clear an individuals was to by judged by the content of his character rather than the color of his skin.

I meant this : it is not meet to take the children’s bread and CAST IT TO DOGS . " MATTHEW 15:24-26

most probably there is another verse where swine is mentioned . If still u can’t remember , then I have to do a Bible search .
Did you read the entire story, ending that Jesus healed the daughter of that woman? Did it touch your logic that saying the word “Cast it to the dog” means a lot of things? Perhaps no. That is why you keep on mentioning that word of Jesus out of the context of the whole story. Many people has told you, but you keep on ignoring. Well, It is OK to me. I am just wondering that you don’t even understand Islam, but has become so expert in interpreting Matthew 15:24-26.

in the Islamic version, he will break the cross, kill the pig, lead the ummah a la Islam, pray in the mosque, and die ( maybe get married as well dunno). There are other things for sure, but to give yu an idea.
Dear InJesus,

Is that mentioned in the Quran or the Hadiths or just the opinion of someone?

swariffin, I will take over from here to answer you.

It is only in the Hadith, not in Quran. hadith is as follows:

By the one in whose hand is my life, Isa son of maryam will surely descend amongst you as a just judge. He will break the cross and kill the swine. Jizyah will be abolished. There will be no religous wars…

This Hadith is mentioned in both Bukhari and Muslim and it is an authentic Hadith. By this Hadith, the prophet promised (speaking to the Companions) that the Isa son of Maryam will definitely visit them… and his duties or acts are also described… But they are symbolic and the Muslims have not understood it and tried to give this Hadith the real literal meanings…
