I have heard him claim that he is Presbyterian, but there are also long time family ties to Marble Collegiate Church on 5th Avenue in NYC. Remember Norman Vincent Peale? He was Senior Minister there for over 50 years. It’s officially Reformed Church of America, not Presbyterian. He’s Presbyterian
According to our friends at Wiki, Marble Collegiate Church is, as you say, Reformed Church of America, but that is, as its name suggests, Presbyterian, not Methodist.I have heard him claim that he is Presbyterian, but there are also long time family ties to Marble Collegiate Church on 5th Avenue in NYC. My guess is that he is not an active member anywhere.
As Pope Francis might ask you, who are you to judge?Oh I think he serves his master very well.

Where did you get the idea that he was Methodist?Trump is a Methodist is he following the tenets of the Methodist church?
Is that supposed to shut me up?As Pope Francis might ask you, who are you to judge?
yup.It seems to me that the only time US suddenly holds up the Christian card is during an election.
The Reformed Church in America is a denomination in and of itself. It comes out of the Dutch Reformed tradition, not quite Presbyterian. Two separate bodies, but I would think that their theology is similar.According to our friends at Wiki, Marble Collegiate Church is, as you say, Reformed Church of America, but that is, as its name suggests, Presbyterian, not Methodist.
Thank you for the correction. Should’ve known better than to trust Wikipedia. The Reformed Church in America is a denomination in and of itself. It comes out of the Dutch Reformed tradition, not quite Presbyterian. Two separate bodies, but I would think that their theology is similar.

As others have mentioned, Donald Trump is Presbyterian, or at least that is how he self-identifies. The only time when I remember him speaking about his religion was when he was campaigning in states like Iowa where religion was considered more noteworthy by the electorate. Interestingly, one of the verses he quotes the most is the one about “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” from the Old Testament (Exodus 21:23-24).Trump is a Methodist is he following the tenets of the Methodist church?
That quote of Francis has been taken out of context and abused almost as much as Matthew 7:1.As Pope Francis might ask you, who are you to judge?
I doubt if he has given much thought as to what he believes. I suspect that during most of his life religion has been placed in the furthest recesses of his mind.I have heard him claim that he is Presbyterian, but there are also long time family ties to Marble Collegiate Church on 5th Avenue in NYC. Yeah the only Methodist in the remaining field is Hillary Clinton.Where did you get the idea that he was Methodist?
I still believe that Cruz was baptized Catholic, although now attends a Southern Baptist congregation and subscribes to his father’s Dominionist theology.Yeah the only Methodist in the remaining field is Hillary Clinton.
Kasich is an Anglican (Anglican Church in North America) and a former Catholic
Cruz is Southern Baptist
Sanders is Jewish but self described as not very religious
Trump is Presbyterian
True, modified my post accordingly. He is also a former Catholic if you want to be technical as is his father. And you’re right, Cruz’s brand of Evangelical is Dominionism but he practices that within the SBC.I still believe that Cruz was baptized Catholic, although now attends a Southern Baptist congregation and subscribes to his father’s Dominionist theology.
