Michael Moore Statement on Canadian Election
Far be it from me, as an American, to suggest what you should do.
That’s a nice introductory gesture. I’m optimistic. :bounce:
You already have too many Americans telling you what to do.
Wot? Eh? Was I asleep? The only one telling me wot to do is Michael Moore. :hmmm: Are there more where he comes from?
Well, actually, you’ve got just one American who keeps telling you to roll over and fetch and sit.
Oh, do I need to be afraid now that Mr Moore’s little chat with us toque-wearers is about to turn ugly? I hope he doesn’t start namecalling. I don’t like that.
I hope you don’t feel this appeal of mine is too intrusive
Somehow I feel a but coming.
but I just couldn’t sit by, as your friend, and say nothing.
But? There it is: Mr Moore’s big but.

Did I hear that right? He doesn’t want us to think that he is intruding but he is going to go right on ahead and intrude. Can someone splain that to me? And how did Mr Moore get to be our friend?
I mean, if you’re going to reduce Canada to a cheap download of Bush & Co., then at least don’t surrender so easily.
A cheap download of Bush & Co? That would be namecalling, wouldn’t it? That’s not very nice.
Can’t you wait until he threatens to bomb Regina?
Whuffa! A good nonsensical flame. Do we respect him for that? Nooooo. :nope: I hope he doesn’t actually believe that Dubya is going to bomb Regina. That would be sad.

Sounds like Mr Moore has taken some notes from Family Compact. This is not really a question of not pulling Canadian strings. It is a question of who gets to pull them and Mr Moore sounds like he wants the job.

Reality check: There is no job. We’re not puppets.

Let me take this opportunity to express to my American friends my deepest gratitude for keeping Mr Moore south of the border. You have no idea how much this means to us up here in the Troo North.

As the wife of a conservative Canadian, I’m happy to tell you that my husband is very happy for this election! 👍

Michael Moore will have to find another country to “tell” them what to do! 😃

Leftists and liberals seem to be losing their shirt recently. COOL!!!:clapping:

You declare gay people have equal rights – and then you elect a man who says they don’t.
We did? I thought it was Paul Martin and liberal groups forcing their way around… Hopefully Harper will manage to get Canadians to vote on this issue, and hopefully the courts will listen to Canadians if the majority is opposed to gay marriage.

I guess you missed the election results in Bolivia and Chile then.

It would be more accurate to say that these things are cyclic. After the Liberals having been in power for 12 years, it is hardly surprising the voters wanted someone else for a while.

Sweden is pretty much the only country that is both a true democracy and yet almost consistently returns the same (socialist) party to government. Most other democracies require a chance of government from time to time.

Just like the coyote with his ever hopeful ACME schemes to snare the roadrunner.

Mmm-eep! M-eep!

Please, don’t you have a lot of room up there in the cold woods where we could let you have, Michael Moore, Harry Belafonte, Dan Glover, Jane Fonda, John Kerry and his catsup, Scott Ritter, Biden, Durbin, Leahy, Kennedy (the fat swimmer) and some more. We have far too many and many times they leave the country, but DARN they always come back. We have got to do something about our borders and don’t be suggesting we close them and KEEP all these loosers either, I’m wise to you my Canadian Friends!

Congrats on the election by the way - as usual now comes the hard part - getting good things done! I’ll say a rosary for you and you do one for us - deal?

Love from Michigan

If you agree to take Moore, we’ll send back Pamela Anderson. 🙂

btw…the UK is due, isn’t it? 😃

I’d hoped we’d declared a moratorium on being gratuitously unpleasant about people.

Mike
Pardon me I used slang for “overweight swimmer”.

Better?

Debatable - we’re only in the 9th year of the Labour government, when the preceding Tory one lated 18. We’ll have to see in 3 years or so.

Not by much. When you are talking about people you would like to get rid of out of your country, any perjorative is uncalled for. As we’re not discussing his state of health, calling him overweight isn’t called for. And as for ‘swimmer’ - well, why don’t you explain to us what you mean by that?

Mike

Oh, be still my heart - you want to know what I meant by overweight swimmer in reference to Ted Kennedy? That is going to call for another thread my friend, devoted to the history of a great crime that went unpunished!

I think the really sad part is that in Canada, most of that list would be considered centrists. The Liberal government we just turfed is considered centrist in Canada. You don’t want to meet our actual leftists.

Don’t worry, I know very well, and we had a discussion on it last week.

As for going unpunished - well, we don’t know all the facts, we never will, and I believe in a God who will decide what is appropriate at the due time. In the meantime I don’t think we should be calling people names.

Anyway, back to the topic, which will doubtless involve calling Michael Moore some more uncharitable things…
