Hi everyone. Does anyone know what this quote is in reference to exactly? Or does anyone know the source of the quote
"Phayer argues that Pius XII — both before and during his papacy — consistently ‘deferred to Germany at the expense of Poland’, and saw Germany — not Poland — as critical to ‘rebuilding a large Catholic presence in Central Europe’ ”
I know it comes from Michael Phayer’s book The Catholic Church and the Holocaust. However, I cannot find anything which quotes in context “deferred to Germany at the expense of Poland” and “rebuilding a large Catholic presence in Central Europe” I have searched on google but the only results are the brief quotes.
