I wasn’t thinking of the person currently practicing some other religion, but the vast numbers - certainly the majority now in Western Europe, and soon in North America; those effectively secularized, even if they occasionally visit their childhood denominations.
Those who are born into another religion are a more sympathetic case, but I think the same principles apply to either case.

Yo. Heads up.
[1821] We can therefore hope in the glory of heaven promised by God to those who love him and do his will.92 In every circumstance , each one of us should hope, with the grace of God, to persevere "to the end"93 and to obtain the joy of heaven, as God’s eternal reward for the good works accomplished with the grace of Christ. In hope, the Church prays for "all men to be saved. "94 She longs to be united with Christ, her Bridegroom, in the glory of heaven:
To be fair, I would say the Church endorses the possibility that all could be saved, but many universalists argue that all will be saved.

And your point is?
Some people believe the tooth fairy exists also.
Bp Barron ain’t remotely one of those people.

Christian zeal should not be for the certainty that some are damned. It might give us disordered comfort to entertain that thought, but that is NOT WHAT HOPE IS.
Our Christian zeal should be to broadcast the hope of salvation that Christ offers to everyone.
I agree 100% It’s not a matter of pride, but compassion. We should definitely pray for the salvation of everyone and pray that they will be saved.

That’s a good quote. I agree with it and I like how it dispels the notion of universalism.

I agree with this. I would just add that we do not ever know for certainty who is “damned” but we do know for certainty the way to salvation.

We also do not know for certainty who is or who will be saved. Not even ourselves. That is not for us to know. We are to be obedient to to the commands of Christ, persevere in the faith and be salt and light of the faith to the world, hoping and praying for our salvation and the salvation of others.

If we truly believe when we receive the Eucharist that we are receiving the Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and believe Him when He said this:

John 6:53-56 “Amen, amen, I say unto you: except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me: and I in him…”

…why would we not want others to know this and have this union with Christ and the graces it brings? Why would we rather take a chance and believe they are saved just where they are? I wouldn’t want someone to do that to me or to anyone else.
