I guess I really don’t understand this. I didn’t know that his views were so extreme. I have watched several of his videos before and I have never heard him say anything extreme about another faith tradition.

Perhaps he’s unwelcome in many dioceses, but he’s hardly facing persecution…

Not to mention, Matt Abbott is not the most reliable writer on these issues.

His views are only “extreme” to the trendy crowd that has all the power in the church today. They are NOT extreme. They just state the truth of the situation. Even the Pope can’t get through to the trendy crowd.

Read this article titled “Bishop Joseph Galante struggles with change in Camden’s Roman Catholic Diocese”

articles.philly.com/2011-04-11/news/29406581_1_mass-attendance-parishes-bishop-joseph-galante

Quote : "Also, having fewer empty pews could liven up Mass, drawing the younger demographic the church has been struggling to retain.

The problem Galante was trying to solve was one that church leaders across the United States are struggling with: how to get Catholics to church in a culture that is increasingly secular."

“Liven Up The Mass”. The Bishop just doesn’t get it. Does he?. But this is what Michael Voris is talking about all along. And when the Pope talks of “The Rupture that has occurred in the Roman Rite”.

Whether you like Mr. Voris or not, this is worth the read. What are our priorities?
This reminds me of the ban of Pro-life groups on university campuses.

Michael Voris persecuted: singing’ the blues in Motown

The original ‘Vortex’ episode that linked to this is here.
When Micheal Voris speaks about (“Professional Catholics”) it wasn’t him who originally brought up the term. In fact it was Pope Benedict XVI who brought this term up in his Advent Message 2010.

I guess the term Status Quo (Don;t Rock the Boat) Catholics is appropriate to many Catholics today.

Rejection sometimes more than often is part of being Catholic especially when you know your own voice means diddly squat anyways. In the End people believe what they want to believe. Of course arrogance plays a big role in this.

More and more today it almost ((“seems”)) as though the Catholic Church is on the verge of a split. Again; it just “seems” that way sometimes. 🤷

Peace
Chris

Michael Voris has always said the term “professional catholics” came from the Pope.

Yes he has. My wording it didn’t imply negativity on my part.

I like Micheal Voris; he’s not perfect in everything he says but most of the time I enjoy Real CatholicTV.

Peace

His views are not extreme and I’ve never heard him say anything that wasn’t orthodox, but the moral relativists must oppose objective truth, which he teaches. He makes a good point that no one in the other camp has answered. Why did the bishop allow a lesbian, who openly promotes homosexuality, to speak on campus while St. Michael’s Media was banned?

Another poster mentioned a rupture. I recently found this article, written by Cardinal Stafford which details his experience with the events that occurred during the dissent over HV. Prior to reading this, I did not know that the bishops did not even read the encylical before they issued their statement of dissent. Every Catholic should read about this rupture, altho it may make you sick if you are faithful to the Magisterium. I believe all these things are related and pertain to the persecution of the faithful Church today.
In 1968, something terrible happened in the Church. Within the ministerial priesthood, ruptures developed everywhere among friends which never healed. And the wounds continue to affect the whole Church. The dissent, together with the leaders’ manipulation of the anger they fomented, became a supreme test. It changed fundamental relationships within the Church.

Why is it that when a priest disagrees with his bishop to the left he is a disobedient monster, but when he disagrees to the right he is a persecuted hero? Compare this thread to the thread on Father Pfleger and you’ll see what I mean.

Yes…I remember that thread and there’s no question about it - there are definitely two opposing sides in the Church today. The thing I don’t understand is why our Shepherds, even on moral matters, no longer speak with one voice.

Maybe the answer lies here:
“My children, long ago I warned you from Fatima, I warned you through many voice-boxes throughout your world that the time will come when you will embark upon a stormy sea, and it shall be bishop against bishop and cardinal against cardinal, and satan shall set himself in your midst.” - Our Lady of Akita, November 20, 1976
(Church approved apparition.)

Maybe the answer is that there is some room for disagreement in any large organization, and that we should not be demonizing everyone with whom we have the slightest disagreement.
