Without Michael Voris, many catholics would still be lost.

If you simply follow the church teaching on proportionate reason, no one in the catholic church would even think about voting for Obama this November. As it is, over 50% of “catholics” will cast their vote for the most pro-abortion president in our country’s history.
I give personal testimony to this. His show “The One True Faith” explained so much to me that I was able to engage in apologetic discussions with other people as well as justify my beliefs.

I did check to make sure that what he said was right. I feel sad knowing that so many Catholics today don’t understand their faith. They’re missing out on so much!

@ Julia Mae

You really have a twisted view of Catholic Social teachings. You also keep spouting off that only democrates care about the poor and homeless. There is no truth in that, especially when you see it being thier programs that keep people poor and make them homeless. FYI social teachings are to be performed by the people of the Church not by the government so the people don’t have to.

Seems like CAF is constantly split between Conservative and liberal Catholics.
  • Obama and the Dems support the poor, Romney is evil and wants more war
  • Romney is the only sane choice, Obama is anti-Catholic who supports more abortions and poverty
  • Michael Voris is Satan in disguise
  • Michael Voris is telling it like it is, y’all need to wake up
🤷🍿

I for one like Michael Voris…a lot, he’s very passionate about the Catholic Church and its teachings.

So shoot me.

Voris is not politically correct, so he gets my respect.
He had been doing this to help, so that Catholics would never again be used as pawns by the likes of Obama!

Here’s your statement and my answer:

There is nothing what the Pope said that contradicts the USCCB document. Faced with a choice between a President who will not stop abortion, but will strip the dignity and care from the disabled and elderly, and one who will fight for the elderly, the mentally ill, the disabled veteran, I’m taking the guy doing the most for life. Just as the Pope actually said:
The Pope did not prioritize the protection of the unborn over the protection of the living, at any stage of life. Our judgement, IMO, needs to come down to which will do the most good and the least harm in terms of all the stages of life.
Where are paragraphs 34 - 37 of Faithful citizenship in any speech by the Pope? You have gone to a paragraph from the Pope which is not the selection of paragraphs I am talking of

How does voting for Obama protect those from conception?

Bishops and Priests have said social security; tax; economy; health care; immigration are not proportionate reasons, in combination or single. They do not override the importance of a 1 milion plus lives being killed annually

Social Justice starts in the womb

Michael Voris does bring out things which need to be discussed in the Church. Our Bishops are not immune from error and therefore, not immune to criticism. When they are teaching in ways that are against the Church, embracing modernity, allowing a committee of lay people to make statements which are not accurate, or putting out documents which are wishy-washy and lack clear teaching we need to call them out on it.

I often have concerns with the manner in which Voris handles this to include his tone, and the tendency to lump all of the Bishops together. We do have some Bishops that have not been handling things properly, we do have many who are excellent and this should be acknowledged, and we also have many who are in between. Thankfully, the more Bishops Pope Benedict get’s to put in place, the better things are getting. Mr. Voris is correct in the fact that we do still have a long way to go.

My concerns with Voris also include the fact that he tends to make broad sweeping generalizations about the state of the Church. In clanging the alarm bell over and over and over again, he comes across as Chicken Little with an attitude problem.
I also have concerns for the fact that he does not allow dialogue on his videos which he posts. He put one out a while back on an interpretation of Genesis, Chapter 3 which, while valid, had been called into question by many more recent translations of Sacred Scripture to include very faithful commentators. When the discussion on YouTube and Facebook started going in a direction that he did not like, the discussion was shut down.

When I first converted, I believe that the Vortex episodes helped me in that I thought everything was just fine in the Church and was not aware of many of these problems, even in my own understanding of the Faith. However, at some point, the consistent negativity became such that it was dragging me down and harming my faith. I stopped watching the videos at that point.

In my not nearly humble enough opinion, Mr. Voris would be well served to tone his rhetoric down, be a bit more charitable, and acknowledge the good, while still bringing problems to light. I see no reason why this cannot be done.

Peace,

I am not a big Voris fan, but in this case, he has a point. The Faithful Citizenship document put out by the USCCB is a disaster. It should have been trashed before it ever got printed and has been a perfect vehicle for dissident Catholics to justify their dissent and for others to be led astray.

There is a time for nuance, and a time for clarity. In this case, the USCCB tried to be all things and overly nuanced and they put out a document that waffles on so many things that people can take it to pretty much mean anything they want. Clear moral teaching is what we need from our bishops.
👍

But promoting dissension, anger and distrust of our Bishops isn’t in any way promoting the Church, it’s undermining people’s Faith. And Voris isn’t telling the truth a lot of the time, apparently counting on people not checking his so-called facts for themselves. And if they do, they can’t tell anyone else, because he never allows comments on his vids.

When someone can’t stand to have the comments turned on under his videos, or have any place for public feedback so people who know better can refute him, whatever he is selling can’t stand up to scrutiny.

Seriously, how much has watching Michael Voris increased your faith and sense of peace and joy in following Jesus Christ through His Church?

You know what things are by their fruits. His fruits are dischord, suspicion, anger, and feelings of distrust in the Church. He is an occasion of sin for anyone who watches him. When we start to think Bishops are like politicians we’ve elected and we get to judge them and demand answers from them, we have WAY overstepped and are, in reality, criticizing the Popes.
It is our job to angry with sin. I’m not angry at the Bishops, just in the job they haven’t been doing. They time and time again refuse to follow canon law. I don’t agree with everything the guy says and it isn’t the only resource I get my catholic faith from(As I am on catholic.com). But I see him as part of the Mystical Body of Christ, perhaps the overreactive immune system, but still bringing to light many of the problems within the Church that need to be fixed.
