Micro-Drones Combined With DNA Hacking Could Create A Very Scary Future

Big deal. The military already has micro-drones. DNA-hacking? Funny. Forget the hacking, just inject something lethal. The Department of Evil will continue to come up with other ideas.

Scary. Whenever I see that word, it’s from someone trying to sell something, or keep something that is being sold on the market instead of being run out of town on a rail.

As an SF writer, countermeasures should be simple and inexpensive, including tracking the signals being sent out and received by the micro-drone. A series of detectors could be installed with micro-squishers that would crush the fake bugs or a device to damage their electronics. It shouldn’t take much energy to make and use a micro-drone bug zapper.

I’m not shaking in my boots 🙂

Absolute nonsense and claptrap! This is typical of the 1960’s/'70’s anti-war people’s paranoia fueled by pot smoke.
People must have massive egos as well as being scientifically ignorant of the capabilities of our intelligence community. These are the same people that believe that TV shows like NCIS and other police/spy shows are realistic portrayals of how these agencies actually function.
Get real and forget the science fiction! There are far more serious things happening in our society that deserve our concern.

What part of it is science fiction? These capabilities already exists. God only knows what else they have brewing. This stuff fascinates me.

No. There are not. Not in this discussion. One of the things I’ve been following very closely is UAV and micro-UAV development. Want links? I’ve got them.

The government has no business using everything from fake birds to fake insects to spy on us just because they can. They could just use them against terrorists or the meth lab down the street, but no. The consumers of intelligence are not just other military agencies but the corporate world as well. As long as the military doesn’t reveal methods and techniques but has non-sensitive data - who’s buying?
