Sure, but according to my prolife friend, Illinois has had a fourfold increase in the number of abortions, since they are now free. Many are coming in from out of state it seems.

People do seem to prefer things that are free, don’t they? Perhaps making abortion more expensive could help to discourage people from killing their babies.
Subsidizing abortions with our tax dollars, whether in the U.S. or overseas, seems to make it easier for people to do the wrong thing.
I appreciate Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence’s committment avoid supporting abortion both here and elsewhere.

It is a shame you choose to offer an uninformed opinion on these matters. One more time:
It’s a shame you refuse to SEE the truth for yourself on this issue.

You were told by liberal media Trump blamed the young woman for her own death despite being provided the full context of his comments where he clearly DOES NOT SAY THAT.

Someone told you it was an inadequate condemnation and you believed it. You did want to see where Trump said, "
We’re proud of who we are, so we want to get the situation straightened out in Charlottesville, and we want to study it.
Before condemning any one group, he and the administration wanted more details of the situation. I know you were told something different but these are Trumps words.

I am far from offering an uninformed opinion. I am offering facts, not an opinion and certainly not an opinion given to me by leftist media.

With this, I am done with this conversation. Logic & reason just work.

I read Trump’s comments and he does say that. What do you think “on many sides” means?
I am far from offering an uninformed opinion.
That is just a reference to your refusal to read the Washington Post article that describes the issues. I mean no offense by the term, I am just repeating what you said. How would you characterize your decision not to read some accounts of the events?

It means on many sides. I don’t have to assign meaning to words that are very clear. He doesn’t mention the young woman in that briefing, possibly he didn’t know about it, possibly he knew something happened but had no details and refrained from commenting? You said it happened 3 hours before he gave these comments. It is within the realm of possibility he did not know about that part.

Yes Yes…I know the “news” told you he did, but let’s get pasts what the “news” tells you as we have already proven the “news” doesn’t really give the news, it only gives it’s opinion of the news.

The Washington Post isn’t going to inform me of anything I don’t already know such as they are reporting their opinion of what happened and what President Trump said, they have a strong anti-Trump bias, and I know what the truth of what was said by President Trump. There is no need for me to waste my time reading something that will not inform me of anything. If you believe so strongly there is anything in that article that can get me to disbelieve the truth and believe the fiction, please quote from the article here.

I’m not a Trump supporter but I agree he was trying to condemn radical groups in general and that there were non radicals also on both sides.

My problem comes from him always having to point out “both sides” instead of just clearly condemning this specific situation. He seems incapable of just clearly stating (for example) the KKK is bad by itself. He always has to point out Antifa is bad too even when Antifa isn’t involved in something that happens. It’s the “whataboutism” he constantly employs.

I get it. There are bad people on both sides. Agreed. But if a situation only involves one group, there is no need to bring in others all the time. If an Antifa person is causing a riot, should he also point out that Proud Boys do this too? Of course he doesn’t. It should work both ways.

The right wing radicals had a permit to hold this protest. I am not defending their ideals, beliefs, or anything else they hold as truth. I’m saying awful as they are, they had the legal right to be there. Counter protestors showed up, some peaceful, some left wing radicals. The radicals on both sides can’t manage their emotions so they act like 4 year olds and go at each other. There is the blame. The biggest beef people had with the whole thing isn’t that Trump “on many sides”, it’s because they were told it was right wing radicals who caused the whole thing and Trump didn’t condemn them.

In the last few months we have had unleashed left wing radical groups wrecking havoc on major cities and Trump is blasted day after day for condemning that violence but when it appears a group of white patriots show up to counter protest all of a sudden they are labeled neo nazi extremists and need to be arrested for treason.
If an Antifa person is causing a riot, should he also point out that Proud Boys do this too? Of course he doesn’t. It should work both ways.
But that’s not how it’s worked in the last few months. Calling out Antifa and the other radicals only got Trump condemned.

All this back and forth, it is what it is. But those who live in the USA. What do you see around you? Biden signs or Trump signs.

Due to Home Owner Association rules, I rarely see political yard signs. I have one Biden and one Trump in my street. But rarely see yard signs.

On Cars driving by I see more Trump stickers, than Biden stickers.

What do you guys see?

I’m in a predominantly Republican area and the yard signs show it. We also seem to have some Trump supporters that aren’t happy with just one yard sign…they have multiples and big banners and their trucks have Trump flags flying off the back…sometimes with American flags and Rebel flags as well! Really? In Colorado? 😂😂😂. I’m just fine with a yard sign but the ones with multiples and banners…well, it just seems excessive. :hugs:

Both. With the popularity of either sign having variation from one area to the next.

When inside the Metro Atlanta area, while the density of signs is much lower, when encountered, they tend to be blue. I also still see a good number of Obama stickers.

Outside of Metro-Atlanta, I see much more red signs and at higher density. The metro-ATL signs tend to be more focused on local elections than national. But it also contains more higher density neighborhoods too with smaller yards. This may be an influence on the propensity to put up a sign.

Outside of Metro-Atlanta, whichbranges from suburban to rural, there are much larger yards. I’ve encountered a few Trump-Pence signs as large as a side of a passenger truck.

I see a lot of Biden signs in my neighborhood. I live in the westside of Los Angeles, so it doesn’t surprise me. I haven’t seen a Trump sign yet in my area, but maybe they don’t want the attention. Plenty of Biden signs though 👍.

In my area, I only see Biden Harris flags (no signs allowed in my association). The flags are huge and obnoxious sheet sized. Also some Dump Trump flags. Absolutely no Trump signs. My secret survey tells me that all the Trump supporters are sporting American flags. And there are lots of them. My adult kids and I recently went on vacation which took us through Southern Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee. As soon as we left our city and entered farm country, we were flooded with Trump signs - everywhere, on silos, trees, billboards. We encountered a Trump forest - there were signs on every tree. When we hit our destination in the Smokies, there was even a Trump store. My kids were flabbergasted. They live in a left-wing bubble.

My nail shop is owned by Vietnamese. They showed me videos of Vietnamese Trump trains beginning in California traveling to Washington, DC. “Donald Trump! Four more years!” I was flabbergasted.

Trump supporters are the silent majority.

That could be the case. There’s security in numbers. My niece just moved from L.A. to Sacramento for her job, and there’s lots of Trump support there in the CA central valley. She feels like a fish out of water there.

When you own the news you can spin it how you want…That’s the media. They are scum…

There’s a road I travel on between the drugstore I patronize and my house. It’s full of political signs.

On my way to the drugstore, you see the blank side of those signs. These signs are only one sided.

On my way home from the drugstore, the vote Biden/Harris signs are on the left while the vote Trump/Pence signs are on the right. How apropos 😂

I haven’t seen one Trump sign around here. A plethora of Biden signs, though.

In 2008 at the hunter parking lots in rural areas, I was surprised by the number of Obama bumper stickers.

On the street I live you used to see a lot of Republican signs. Today there is only one lawn full of signs. (Democrat)

That’s a lot of work if you decide to mow your lawn. 🙂
