Liberals also never tire of claiming the Trump economy is really due to Obama.
The trend data - posted here over and over again - makes a compelling case that under Trump we are enjoying with little change, what began under Obama. The only major change is the flattening of the DoJ increases.

It is @PaulinVA ;s as much as it is Trump’s
Exactly the celebration is not just his (it belongs also people who disagree with him) and he wish dangerous weather condition on those people. You seriously don’t see the hate in that?

Wishing an event gets rained out isn’t the end of the world.

Not sure what you mean by “there”.

“The president and first lady will host a Fourth of July fireworks viewing party at the White House for military families in the evening.
President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will celebrate Independence Day at the White House by welcoming military families to the South Lawn for an afternoon picnic. In the evening, staff and guests will join the military families to enjoy the traditional fireworks display provided by the National Park Service,” the White House announced in late June.

So, attending versus hosting. If you really try, I guess there are two ways to read that.

No, that’s a very good bit of sleuthing.

So, if he hosted a viewing party for the fireworks show last year, why did he seem to forgot that when he tweeted about the July 4 show he envisioned as having a fireworks show, as if it was something new?

How sure are we that they’ll do that? I have seen tanks with rubber pads on the treads. Maybe that’s common, maybe not.
All of our tracked vehicles have rubber pads on the treads. This does not, however, prevent the tracks from tearing up asphalt. Asphalt is super soft, especially in 100 degree heat. The problem is you have a 70 ton vehicle that has to pivot to steer, so every time you make a turn in asphalt, the inside track puts gashes in the blacktop and, depending on how hot it is and how new the asphalt is, can actually put track marks into the road surface just driving or sitting on it. Concrete however is fine.

Anyways this is much ado about nothing. The tanks are not going to be driving down any blacktop roads. They are going to be hauled into position with basically lowboy trucks and driven off the back into static positions on the national mall, where they will remain for people to look at for the duration of the event. Then loaded back on lowboy trucks and taken home.

I just feel sorry for the guys who had a four day weekend this weekend who were suddenly told Friday that they would instead be standing around for people to gawk at and/or insult on the National Mall instead of drinking beer and watching fireworks with friends at home. I hope they get compensated with something while in DC.

FYI the armored vehicles on the Mall will be the Abrams tank and Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Only one is a tank, whatever the uncultured among us think. 😝

Oh dear, that sounds rather dismal.

Anyway, the best parades don’t have tanks. They have blokes with swords and plumey hats riding horses. (The blokes riding, not the hats).

More people voted for Hillary than voted for Trump.
That’s like saying that Team A made more shots during the warmups than Team B. What the heck does that matter? It’s the game that counts, not the warmups. The final vote count was 304 - 227. Trump won by a good margin.

Must be a European thing. I have seen dozens of Independence Day parades and never have I seen participants with swords and plumed hats riding on horseback. Americans must be a bit plainer in our tastes. Usually it’s some old guys of the American Legion leading off, followed by a few young guys who are National Guard, followed by some JROTC teenagers. Lots of flags, though, and some nice looking drill here and there, especially by the JROTC. Now and then the Sheriff’s Posse will appear on horseback at the end, but the hats are cowboy hats.

As far as tanks are concerned, they generally are located at the armories as outside decor, where kids go to climb on them and admire them. But sitting on display at a celebration? Yes, my grandkids would go for that in a big way, and I would like to see them myself. You don’t normally get to see an Abrams in most of the country, or a Bradley either, for that matter.

Now and then, two or three guys will show up in biplanes trailing red, white and blue smoke while doing aerial acrobatics. Neat to watch.

He does something that isn’t new and liberals don’t like it. He does something new and they don’t like that either. Maybe they can burn Betsy Ross Nikes for their entertainment, since they don’t like the Fourth entertainment many or most Americans do.

Ceremonial units are actually quite helpful because they free up everyone else to do their real jobs. The Army for example has the Old Guard who does all of the state functions in Washington, tomb of the unknown soldier and the caisson team and all that. And down at Fort Hood they have a cavalry unit that plays a similar role but wear 19th century Indian Wars uniforms:
