I think that their gripes are with actual teachings of the Church, which puts them at odds with how things really are. The church isn’t going to change on abortion or gay marriage, and I’m pretty sure from looking at polling data on certain modern social issues that’s the aspect of tradition that Gen Z doesn’t like. To which there’s no other response but to shrug and just tell them that the Church isn’t a body that is meant to emulate the passions and politics of the day. It’s meant to be timeless
