I think the Canonization of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II are TRULY blessed events in the history of the Church!!!
These men toiled hard for Christ and His message… and they should be recognized for it. I know every pope works hard for Christ, and has an unfathomable burden to bear, but John XXIII and John Paul II were exceptional.
We’ve had a very good run of popes, I think, since the middle of the 20th century. Pope Paul VI was no slouch, and John Paul I would have been canonized if he had lived (I’m certain of that). That isn’t to say that Pius XII and his predecessors were lacking, I just can’t speak intelligently of them.
It’s very possible that one day our beloved Pope Francis will join these great men in the pantheon of sainthood… His Holiness needs our prayers, and he needs us to LIVE THE WORD. Jesus wants us all to make the world a better place. John XXIII and John Paul II did their part for Christ. Let us continue to do ours!
