I’ve never met anyone who claimed to be abducted by aliens, however I have personally seen an UFO, not up close but traveling at an incredibly high speed, so since I obviously believe that UFOs exists and probably alien visitations as well. I do NOT exclude the possibility of alien abductions.

Well, I have also seen many UFO’s. Given where I live, unidentified flying objects are more common than identified ones…but eventually most are identified as one fancy new extremely expensive aircraft or other. For instance, I was watching the F-117 jaunt around the skies for something like 7 years before everybody else was let in on the ‘secret.’

Nobody who lives around the Skunk Works gets excited about UFO’s. Too many of 'em punching contrails through the sky.

The point of an unidentified flying object is that it is unidentified; if you decide that it is a vehicle transporting extraterrestrial life forms, it’s no longer ‘unidentified,’ is it?

Wildkit I didn’t say I only desired to discuss “modern” miracles. The OP referenced “modern” miracles so I responded based on that premise.

Well that’s not entirely true. Embalming was most certainly practiced widespread in Europe from around 500ad forward. Writings of contemporary physicians have been discovered that describe the methods used as well as mummified bodies.

No it does not miss the mark. Most incorruptible bodies get exhumed from their tombs to see if they are intact. The tombs alone act to preserve the body. That’s what I’m referring to regarding air tight containers. Try laying in a sealed tomb and see how for long you can breath. There have been several incorruptible bodies that once exhumed started to decay over time. What I find most interesting is that we would even put a premium on a body not decaying after death as if it somehow guarantees GODLY intervention and is supporting proof for that person to be declared a saint. That is purely a paganistic practice.

We can disregard levitation but as far as Eucharistic miracles please name one that has happened within the past say 500 years.

Keep in mind we’re talking again about “modern” miracles as stated by the OP. I mentioned the unbelief among current Catholics on transubstantiation because miracles like the supposed one in Lanciano have pretty much disappeared for a very long time. Many scholars believe this is a contributing factor to the unbelief. We could probably argue whether it is or isn’t but it’s not worth it.

Well I’m very guarded about Fatima given the content and timing of the message. But I’m sure something interesting was going on there whatever it was.

As far as my son I certainly appreciate your prayers and agree that our sharing of miracles can only strengthen our faith. For me personally something like Fatima or Lourdes has no impact on my faith as these types of phenomena can certainly be the work of an evil spirit. Fatima claimed that the path to GOD was through her now which is a complete contradiction of scripture.

I didn’t know that about Fatima. I would like to know the third secret. I’ve read about it and one priest speculated that maybe it foretold the end of the world which would render the entire story a fraud because no one but the Lord is to know that.
