I am so sorry Miraluna. I didn’t know you had miscarried this wk. :hug1: Big time hugs and prayers for you :hug1:I cannot imagine what you feel having lost 5 babies :hug1:
Well, I too have a spetum in my uterus, which is being fixed on Tuesday. We found out I either had a bicornuate or septate uterus when I was 5 wks pregnant in July. Sadly, that baby died too, making it my second miscarriage.
So, you have both conditions, bicornuate and septate? All I have read and even heard from my RE is that the septate uterus can always be fixed. I know the bircornuate is harder to fix, but if you’ve had 2 successful pregnancies, then the bicornuate part is not sucha big deal as the septum, since the septum lacks blood supply for a baby to grow if it implanted there.
The success rate of pregnancy goes up to 80% after a septum has been removed, right now i only have a 20% chance.
I totally understand what you mean when you say this is emotionally and physically draining (both my miscarriages happened 9 months appart) and I’m still grieving and mourning both babies… and my body is still not 100% back to normal.
We are using NFP to avoid TTC until the surgery is done and over with and after all my follow up appts and tests. I don’t ever want to go thru that heartache again. I am nervous and anxious regarding the surgery and treatment, but that is the only way for us to ever become parents. If you don’t want to live w/this anxiety for the rest of your live, get the surgery done. My RE (reproductive endocrinologist) said this surgery is less invasive than a d&c and that you can be up and about the day after the surgery (except for driving until 2 days after)…
Please consider the surgery and treatments. You will save yourself a lot of stress and possible heartbrakes… as you know, NFP may not always work because humans are weak and sometimes we cannot abstain when we’re supposed to to try to avoid a pregnancy.
My prayers are with you.
ETA: And thanks on the wishes.
