Does the Missa Cantata have a mandated rubrics guide that we are to follow, similar to that of the GIRM?
I’m wondering because I’ve found conflicting guides for serving the Missa Cantata. For example, the parish where I served High Mass for the first time -see other thread- seems to do things differently than what SanctaMissa.org shows. And its not just this parish. The one in our diocese that has been hosting the Tridentine Mass for a LONG time is the model that we’re using for our High Mass.
Just to give you an idea of what I’m talking about, our High Mass uses 2 acolytes for the prayers at the foot of the altar. A Youtube video of a Missa Cantata from France shows the Master of Ceremonies at the foot of the altar with the priest.
Are these just cultural and local custom differences?
Any mandated guide?
