Flashback: Obama’s Sordid High School Past
While the Washington Post has been diligently digging into relatively innocent high school pranks by Mitt Romney, they’ve spent the last few years diligently ignoring President Obama’s far more controversial high school days.
Obama, by all accounts, was a habitual drug user in high school. He tried cocaine, he admits in Dreams From My Father
; he “tried drugs enthusiastically.” The Chicago Tribune reported back in 2007 that Obama thanked the “Choom Gang” in his high school yearbook; “chooming” was Hawaiian slang for smoking pot. The Honolulu Advertiser reported that Obama’s senior portrait “prominently displayed … A package of ‘Zig-Zag’ rolling papers and a matchbook.” One of Obama’s close friends was arrested for drug possession during high school.

In his memoir, Obama talked about routinely getting high. “Junkie. Pothead,” he wrote. “That’s where I’d been headed: the final, fatal role of the young would-be black man.” But, according to Obama, he only got high because he was contemplating deep matters: drugs could “push questions of who I was out of my mind.”

Obama told students in 2007 that this activity constituted “goofing off” and “wasting time”:

“I will confess to you that I was kind of a goof off in high school as my mom reminded me,” Obama said. "I went to high school in Hawaii, so there’s a lot of opportunity to goof off because the weather is really good all the time …

"You know, I made some bad decisions …. You know, got into drinking and experimenting with drugs. There was a whole stretch of time where I didn’t apply myself. It wasn’t until I got out of … high school, and went to college that I started realizing, man, I wasted a lot of time.”

The New York Times, however, went out of its way to find Obama’s classmates to testify that drugs played only a “bit part” in Obama’s youth. Yet Obama would later brag on the campaign trail that he “inhaled frequently … that was the point.”

During his high school years, Obama hung out with communist radical Frank Marshall Davis; in 2007, the Los Angeles Times reported that during his high school days, “he felt the first stirrings of anger toward whites. He says he also delved into black nationalism.” He was “offended or even enraged when white classmates adopted black street slang or revealed their underlying consciousness of his race by going out of their way to tell him how much they admired a black musician or athlete.”

This activity is certainly more reflective of Obama’s ideological history than Mitt Romney’s pranks on teachers and fellow students. And as for the drug use – well, that seems just a bit more serious than walking a teacher into a door or cutting a student’s hair. But leave it to the Post to ignore or downplay all of that in favor of continuing stories about Romney’s dog, his high school hijinks, and whatever other nonsense they can use to protect President Obama from his own incompetence.

I just get so nauseous knowing I’m going to have to vote at all.

I’ve never missed an election, but this one is gonna take some real effort to walk into the polling precinct. If Obama beat Romney, and I failed to vote, I never would forgive myself.

“long been bothered by” does not necessarily mean “witnessed”

But, sure, maybe there was a mistake. And we know what is happening, right? The RNC will find some minor mistake (someone’s age, a date slightly off) and try to say that means the whole thing didn’t happen. I am well aware of this kind of thing from Deniers of all kinds. But sorry, not this time. Romney has already admitted participating and has apologized for it.

This RNC method is a very deceptive and dishonest tactic, that should not be condoned by a Christian forum.
The only party being dishonest, that we now have proof of, is the Post.

He never said “I have long been bothered.” When they interviewed him, it was the FIRST he’d heard of it. They put those words RIGHT in his mouth. Please, admit it.

All Hail Breitbart!

So Romney was just innocently enforcing the school’s dress code! Sounds like a reasonable excuse for gang assault, humiliation and leaving a child weeping and crying for help. Maybe Breitbart will start recommending all schools have this kind of “enforcing”.

Hey, wait a minute. Does the school code have any rules against assault, going after a kid with a pair of scissors, and bullying? Well, at least Romney read the page about the dress code.

Sure. Obama is looking at the polls, as he does in all things, and believes the majority in this country support homosexual “marriage”. Maybe it does and maybe it doesn’t, but there are polls, most notably the PEW poll that says it’s so.

So, despite his 2008 denials, Obama now feels like he can openly support gay marriage, which he did secretly all along. He now (astonishingly and totally unbelievably) claims his 10 and 13 year old daughters had a big hand in persuading him. And one has to wonder about those dinner table conversations…discussing homosexuality with a ten year old??? Does he really do that? But then, he announced his support for abortion in their presence when they were even younger, so he might have no particular concern about the corruption of the young.

Possibly, Obama made a mistake with this, since the polls also show support for homosexual “marriage” decreasing over the last few years. But he probably has his own polls; lots of them, and perhaps they tell him something different.

And, having thought this out for a long time, and having concluded that the voting public is likely to be intolerant of anything that can be represented (even falsely, as in this instance) as “homophobic”, and since Axelrod’s private investigative hordes have probably sifted every moment of Romney’s life, the “team” decided this was the time to play the “homophobic bully” card via the captive media on a public they hope is sufficiently gullible to swallow the whole thing. But they didn’t think this up yesterday.

And hasn’t there been quite a bit of money spent in the media and in the educational system on “bullying”, especially bullying of homosexuals?

The Party of Death has been working on this thing for quite awhile. And it isn’t going to end with smearing Romney. In his second term, Obama is going to push homosexuality full bore, and in many ways, and everybody who might oppose his program is being given an object lesson now on the consequences of doing so.

And poor Cardinal Dolan thinks the ONLY reason he might end up in jail in Obama’s second term is for refusing to accede to Obama’s dictat that the Church support contraception and abortion?

How did Cardinal George put it?

“I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square.”
He supported gay ‘marriage’ in 1996 and has been on and off for support for it since. I find that odd, I think he has probably supported it since then but has said he does not for political reasons.

Tell Romney that it didn’t happen, he’s already apologizing:

That is a generic apology for high school pranks. As far as I can determine, Romney doesn’t remember the incident.

When asked about the homosexual angle, Romney indicated that was far from his mind. I find that credible. Back then, the idea that someone might be homosexual probably didn’t routinely cross too many minds because homosexuality wasn’t trotted out routinely, endlessly, constantly, relentlessly, as it is today.

The left is low-road all the way, and this is probably only the tip of the iceberg they’re going to float.

But still, it is not Mitt Romney who has remained obdurate when a Cardinal of the Church says he will go to jail before he’ll obey the Obama HHS mandate. Who is the despot here? Romney, who cut a guy’s hair for some reason we don’t know when he was 17 or 18 or Obama, who, right now, appears perfectly willing to loot the Lutheran Church and send a Cardinal to jail? And let us not forget the Catholic employers who will be facing sanctions for the same reason.

So, who is the more likely despot of 2013-2016?
It’s all black hats and white hats eh?

I have a suspicion this was planned. First Joe Biden’s comments, then the Education secretary’s, then Barack Obama’s comments about gay ‘marriage’ and now portraying Mitt Romney as a bully and anti-gay. Disgusting.
You find your suspicion disgusting?

…There is no evidence that Obama bullied anyone, ever.
There is no evidence that Romney did either, though there is hearsay out there. Can that hearsay be trusted as factual? That remains to be seen. Stu White has already come forward and said that the the paper made up his supposed statement about being there and regretting the incident.

Also, no eyewitnesses have described the incident in his own words, but a reporter said “the incident was recalled similarly by five students.” It would be prudent to hear from the actual eyewitnesses before we rush to judgment.

So Romney was just innocently enforcing the school’s dress code! Sounds like a reasonable excuse for gang assault, humiliation and leaving a child weeping and crying for help.
Just amazing! Romney, we were huffily told earlier by the left, “could have been charged as an adult”, but Lauber was “a child”??

The left never fails to meet one’s expectations.

Oh, (small digression here, but it ties in with an earlier post) I heard on a KC radio station the other day that the Democrat prosecutor is going to paste new charges on Bishop Finn of that diocese, notwithstanding that the police didn’t think he did anything wrong.

What’s that Cardinal George said again?

“I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square.”

Folks, this is not “just another election”.

It’s all black hats and white hats eh?
Oh no. I truly believe Democrat Senator Joe Manchin wears a white hat. Then, there’s…there’s…well, I think there might be a few Dem House members that don’t have high NARAL approval scores. A few, as I recall. Possibly some of them even oppose forcing the Church to promote contraception and abortion, as Joe Manchin is sufficiently brave to do.

And then, I recall reading that Ray LaHood is prolife, and that might be true, so I’ll take it for true.

Otherwise, yeah, pretty much all black hats on the Dem side, anyway.

You find your suspicion disgusting?
I don’t know about disgusting, but I do agree with ringil that we should give the Obama administration the benefit of the doubt in not being involved in this.

The benefit of the doubt should be afforded to everyone, until evidence is too strong to ignore.

From another thread, here is a Mike Wallace documentary that gives everyone a feel for the public attitude of the day.
CBS Documentary - The Homosexuals (1967)

Remember that the act itself was illegal in most US states at the time, going to jail when caught. Society has changed quite a bit in 50 years. However it was good to see a Catholic priest teaching love the sinner but hate the sin in the documentary
I was just thinking along those lines. I would guess that 47 years ago nearly 100% of the population would have taken issue with a man who acted in a feminine manner and Romney would not have been remarkable at all in that reaction if that was the case. 🤷
