Romney improving numbers among Florida Hispanics
Buried in a poll that showed no convention bounce for Mitt Romney was this encouraging sign: His approval rating among Hispanics has improved over the last five weeks despite being far outspent by Barack Obama.
Now, 49 percent of Hispanics have a favorable view of Romney, according to the Public Policy Polling survey
. That’s up from 43 percent in the last poll. In a matchup, Obama leads among Hispanics 52 to 45. In July, the spread was 61 to 34. Those numbers seem a bit odd but overall, the trend shows Romney improving.

Romney has now started a more aggressive advertising effort toward Hispanics. Today, Obama’s campaign released a Spanish-language ad featuring Bill Clinton. Nationally, Obama holds a large lead among Hispanics.

From the Nashville City Paper (a couple of days ago):

Anonymous group allegedly hacked Romney tax records via Franklin firm

An anonymous individual or group is alleging that they have gained “all available 1040 tax forms” of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney by accessing computers in the Franklin office of the professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.

An anonymous posting on a text-sharing website states that PwC has been hacked. This same website has been used by hackers who have claimed to have infiltrated computers from companies like Apple in the past.

The story goes on at the link. The basic synopsis is that this group has set up two dropboxes. One to destroy the key that unlocks the file with the tax returns, one to broadcast the key widely in the public domain. The first box that gets a million bitcoins wins.

Fascinating.

Time to DVR everything until after this election.
I never watch live TV. Sometime I feel out of the loop because I don’t know what advertisements people are talking about. 😉

Edit to add except for baseball.

Reince Priebus says Mitt Romney ‘gave away his father’s inheritance’
I believe this to be true, but it does not address how much help Mr. Romney had in getting into Harvard, starting Bain Capital, business connections, etc., etc. His father was 88 when he died and Mitt was already a multi-millionaire.

There are self-made, and then there are self-made.

Why do you assume Romney got help getting in to Havard and that he did not do it through good grades?
Upon his return, he married his high school sweetheart, Ann, and soon after, enrolled in Brigham Young University. He graduated in 1971 with a Degree in English, with a 3.97GPA. His young family then moved to Boston, and Mitt enrolled in both Harvard Law (HLS) and Harvard Business School (HBS). He obtained his MBA from HBS in 1975 and graduated cum laude from HLS with his Juris Doctor the same year, finishing in the top 5% of his class

Are you asking the same question about Obama? Do you think ge got help getting in to Harvard?

Because it’s Harvard, or any Ivy League University for that matter. No one, including the President, gets in one of those schools without some help. Good grades might get you into Pitt or USC.

That’s not true. Most Ivy Leagues have programs that accept a certain percentage of students on full scholarship if their parents make less than $40,000.00. My daughter’s high school encouraged her to apply. Her French teacher’s son made it into Yale on a full ride. Yes, he has excellent grades.

Isn’t that help? How many of these students are actually admitted each year compared to those who get in because they are a legacy, come from extreme wealth, or happen to know someone with pull.

This applies to both political affiliations…if you have an in, your grades can be irrelevant, ala the Kennedys and the Bushs.

I don’t have the statistics on how many people get into these schools under those conditions, do you?
