They will take advantage of voter suppression laws, but they’re won’t be that blatant. The GOP is more subtle than that.
The GOP version of voter suppression: ensure that a person is eligible to vote and to vote in that particular precinct.

The Democratic version of voter suppression: gang violence.

Yup, you’re right, Rich. The GOP version is much more subtle.

🤷

I hope they are right as i’ve seen two different Electoral College projection websites that have Obama winning in a land slide.
We are heading into the end of peak travel and gas pricess are jumping back up to $4.00 a gallon. The manufacturing economy is still in a slump, which will trickle into the retail and service economies. The housing market has yet to reach bottom, and there are 4 million homes already in the foreclosure inventory. There is already talk of QE3 based on bear market projections. If Romney cannot just keep this focused on the economy and looses, then the GOP should just dissolve and a better, more cogent, more politically capable party should emerge. I am hoping for one more in line with Catholic social teaching than either the GOP or the DNC.

Stop drinking the democrat kool-aid and join us in the real world.

I have worked the polls in Ohio for three years and NO ONE was turned away.

Yaaaa, the GOP is going to be out decked out in all black paramilitary garb with billy-clubs at polling stations to make sure that the wrong people don’t vote.

Oh, wait…that’s not the GOP…🤷
No, it’s the Black Panthers - who like the KKK are not duly elected leaders of a political party who are using their political authority to disenfranchise millions of legitimate voters - so what are you trying to get at?

ALERT!!! A bit of the REAL WORLD:

**“Voter ID, which is going to allow Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania. Done!” [Applause]

You have anything that can prove your assertion that GOP political operatives are using the law to disenfranchise “millions” of voters? I’d even settle for thousands of disenfranchised voters. No, make that hundreds…Tens…four. Show me that the GOP is using the law to disenfranchise just four voters.

You forgot the boost the GOP will get from all their voter suppression laws. It could tip the balance towards Romney in states like Ohio & Pennsylvania.
NONSENSE! Requiring voters to show proof that they actually are who they SAY they are isn’t supression,it is taking steps to insure that all votes are counted as valid. No more dead people voting,no more people voting multiple times, you get the drift:rolleyes:

See my previous post. They admit themselves that the intention of the law was to win the state for Mitt Romney. What more proof must I submit?

The intend of having voters prove that they are who they are and are eligible to vote where they claim to be eligible by requiring FREE state ID cards is voter disenfranchisement? I watched the rather context free clip, and it could very well assert not voter disenfranchisement, but rather proper regulation of the voting process, which is a Contitutionally-established state right.

Then why will it help Mitt Romney win the state? No, the motivations behind the law are clear. Voter impersonation fraud in PA is nonexistent and the Republicans used their majority to pass a law intended to rig the system in their favor. They admit it themselves.

If keeping people from voting that are not supposed to vote wins the state for Mitt Romney, the law is a good thing, isn’t it?

All those poor, disinfranchised minorities and elderly people! None of them are capable of getting a photo id to vote.

Well, except…

The plaintif in the Pennsylvania lawsuit challenging the PA voter ID law on the basis that she couldn’t get a photo id.
The day after a judge upheld Pennsylvania’s new voter identification law, the lead plaintiff in the suit seeking to block the law went to a PennDot office and was issued the photo ID card she needs to vote.

That ONE man is the PA House Republican LEADER.
bellasbane,

If the Republicans in that state feel that the Democrats are funneling people to the voting booth who are not legal residents of the state, or allowing people to vote in different precincts under different names, or some other voter fraud and they pass a voter ID law, they would have said exactly what that man said. So what he said doesn’t indicate that the Republicans intend on committing voter fraud, it may be just the opposite.

Is Romney’s lead vanishing because of Akin’s comments or his own?

Why would Akin be a reason for in Romney’s decline in poll points? Romney has asked Akin to step down. Paul Ryan has personally Akin too
